Some SCIENCE today: detecting mottled duck nesting attempts using geolocators mounted on leg bands! Those dark vertical areas indicate a hen sitting on a nest for a month = successful hatch!

Amazing evidence of dusk Peregrine attack on a Grey Plover, while the bird was flying at an altitude of 3000 metres (nearly 10,000 feet).

What is going on here? Something I frequently observe: Wood duck eggs appear to be depredated at greater rates than hooded merganser eggs (marked with red Xās).
