We used the @NCCOR measurement registry to assess the validity and reliability of 455 youth physical activity measures.
Criterion validity (89%) and test-retest reliability (70%) were the most common measurement properties.
The lack of reporting of these demographic characteristics is alarming - 52% didn’t report race/ethnicity while 71.5% didn’t report socioeconomic status! We encourage researchers to report this information and suggest updating the registry (last updated in 2020)!
We also suggest developing standards for measurement development (like COSMIN) but for physical activity measurement, and possibly addition of other measurement properties like responsiveness.
Awesome job @kap_msu@JenZink_PhD and everyone else not on 🙅♀️

Super excited to join everyone receiving an @NIH_LRP award from @NIDDKgov .
Mine wasn’t awarded last year so if you don’t get it - I feel your pain, but reapply! (Also learn from my mistakes and read and follow the rules 😂).
Also huge thanks to @Willis_EA who sent advice and materials. I’m here to pay it forward so please reach out if you have questions about the program. I promise it will be easier than cold emailing LRP ambassadors...
Thank you to our Special Editors for hosting a great symposium on #OpenSource#ActiGraph Activity Counts at #ICAMPAM2024.
Looking forward to hearing from many other researchers at the conference!
