Kingsley Club, full of strategy, ground options & gorgeous naturalist bunkering, is inspired by Mackenzie, one Golden Age architect who did not work on Pine Valley. Pine Valley, a brutish slash of sand and scrub demanding aerial strength & fearless touch, is yet somehow sublime.

Am I an unapologetic @KingsleyClub homer? Youbetcha. Does @DeVriesDesigns deserve to be in the final for his work there? The case can be made, as I previously did here -->> geekedongolf.com/2019/10/kin… (aerial 📸s by @noah_jurik)

Terrain. Sand Hills flows over, across and between the weathered dunes of a vast site using naturally found stopping points for greens. Kingsley likewise plays exuberantly off the property’s most striking features, slaloming along shoulders & ridges, through swales & valleys.

I can't tell--is this thing actually turning into a game? Kingsley is chipping away at the Sand Hills lead.

These courses do share a lot in common. Each shows off a spectacular northern environment with holes that stream and flow across big natural contours, and architecture that plays off the landforms. Erin is thoroughly large and rumbling; Kingsley’s features scale large and small.
