The first paper from our lab is now out in peer-reviewed form @LSAjournal. Huge congratulations to the first author Mary Bergwell, @STEMinistSkater, now in grad school at UPenn, and second author @JY_Park102! I am very proud of their hard work. They even let me do a few expts!

Can't wait to try this out. Seems like a very simple (yet elegant) adaptation to our CUT&Tag protocols that we should be able to implement immediately.
🧪Move over CUT&Tag, there’s a new #TranscriptionFactor mapping method in town. Our newly developed DynaTag is faster, cleaner, more sensitive than #ChIPseq, #CUT&RUN and #CUT&Tag. 🔗 Our @natcomms.nature.com paper: nature.com/articles/s41467-0… 🧵Here’s why DynaTag is so powerful(1/7)

Today, we announced that the first patient has been dosed with FHD-909 in the Phase 1 trial for SMARCA4 (BRG1) mutated cancers, with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) as the primary target patient population. Read the announcement to learn more: bit.ly/3NkA4NH

Our collaborative work with the @NAT_machinery lab on NAA80 is now published in @LSAjournal. Actin is a critical component of the eukaryotic cytoskeleton, it undergoes unique N-terminal processing by dedicated enzymes, resulting in a mature, acidic, and acetylated form. In humans, NAA80 catalyzes N-terminal acetylation, the final step in this process. To investigate the loss of NAA80 function, our labs created zebrafish models for Naa80. Our findings demonstrate that zebrafish Naa80 acetylates various forms of actin, including muscle and non-muscle actins, and plays a crucial role in normal hearing.

Point of View: Applied research won’t flourish without basic science doi.org/10.7554/eLife.102368 From leaders at the NIH! This is absolutely true and we need more support from Congress to allow for exploration and fundamental studies.

Finally, treating with an EZH2 inhibitor did not lead to gene transcription, suggesting that removing RING1B and/or cBAF-mediated recruitment of co-factors is an additional requirement for gene activation.

Finally, I would like to thank the team @LSAjournal and Editor @Eric_LSAjournal for their hard work in the publishing process. They worked quickly, clearly, and fairly, and I look forward to sending more of our work their way in the future!
