Assistant professor at Costerton Biofilm Center at Uni of Copenhagen focused on the physiology of non-attached biofilm aggregates both clinical and in vitro

Today marks the start of #ASMicrobe 2023 and we are in! You can find @KraghBio in our booth #1111, come and talk about all the exciting applications of the calScreener. He can also give you an autograph if you are a fan of his work #biocalorimetry#microbiology
What a great talk by @DarchLab from @USouthFlorida at #ASMmicrobe23! I love Sophies work with SCFM and how her lab is uses in vivo-like models to investigate P.aeruginosa #biofilm aggregates in their natural environment. Let's make our models more relevant!
It is finally time to once again join tens of thousands of microbiologists for ECCMID. This year is even more special as it is in Copenhagen.
If you are around Bella Centeret and what to meet up and talk infections, biofilm, microbiology, calScreener, or anything else, write me
I can't wait to see what fantastic new applications we can come up with for this powerful technology in microbiology, infection medicine, diagnostics, biotech and so much more. I look forward to forming high-impact collaborations with talented researchers, doctors and engineers.
Welcome, Kasper!
On joining Symcel, Kasper says, “I’m excited to see how much more we can do in the areas of #antimicrobials and infection diagnostics, but also in #cancer research, #biotechnology, parasitology and microbial ecology”

Thank you so much for a really fantastic conference @EBF2022@aoliverp73@macia_marilo@erojomol@m_billon. and what an honor to receive the award for best presentation! Thank you, I really appreciate it.
Interesting tnseq screen for #biofilm essential genes in #Pseudomonas aeruginosa being presented by @KraghBio at #EBF2022. I like the fact they used a non-attached aggregate model, seeded by cells embedded in agar, to simulate mucus-embedded biofilms in vivo.
Craig Williams opens #DanishBiofilmWorkshop with telling us about biofilms in the real world: “biofilms are cool” - by clever microbiologists, “how do we diagnose it?” -by hospital microbiologists, “what are biofilms?”- by junior medical doctor?
Our new study just published in @ThoraxBMJ reveals that the difference between acute and chronic lung infections is not the presence and absence of biofilm aggregates, but that acute infections have higher metabolic activity. thorax.bmj.com/content/early…
We recently published a #biofilm story in @BiofilmJournal. In this paper, we share our formulation for an in vitro wound milieu (IVWM), to recapitulate key features of & gain new insights into mixed-species bacterial biofilms 🧫🦠. (1/n)
