What a great talk by @DarchLab from @USouthFlorida at #ASMmicrobe23! I love Sophies work with SCFM and how her lab is uses in vivo-like models to investigate P.aeruginosa #biofilm aggregates in their natural environment. Let's make our models more relevant!

One of the main questions in #Microbiology is to know how #biofilms work, see more details in this fascinating book edited by @DrKatiRichter and @KraghBio. #springernature #biotechnology #research #antibiotics #microbial #infectiousdiseases #therapeutics link.springer.com/book/10.10…

Excited to see our new paper out in @CellReports. We show that #biofilm formation in #Pseudomonas is associated with high metabolic rates, which are mainly caused by production of biofilm matrix components. @BiofilmLab @UCPH_health and Niels Bohr Institute cell.com/cell-reports/fullte…

Thank you so much for a really fantastic conference @EBF2022 @aoliverp73 @macia_marilo @erojomol @m_billon. and what an honor to receive the award for best presentation! Thank you, I really appreciate it.
Again congratulations to all the presenters for their contribution to the #EBF2022 and to biofilm knowledge, but especially to @KaushikLab, @CLandersdorfer, @ryankean29, @KraghBio and @lperestrelom! 🥇🎉

Interesting tnseq screen for #biofilm essential genes in #Pseudomonas aeruginosa being presented by @KraghBio at #EBF2022. I like the fact they used a non-attached aggregate model, seeded by cells embedded in agar, to simulate mucus-embedded biofilms in vivo.

Craig Williams opens #DanishBiofilmWorkshop with telling us about biofilms in the real world: “biofilms are cool” - by clever microbiologists, “how do we diagnose it?” -by hospital microbiologists, “what are biofilms?”- by junior medical doctor?

Our new study just published in @ThoraxBMJ reveals that the difference between acute and chronic lung infections is not the presence and absence of biofilm aggregates, but that acute infections have higher metabolic activity. thorax.bmj.com/content/early…
