I have just read several discussions on the
@LineaBuild forum about the proposed distribution of Linea tokens in preparation for the TGE
You can also see them here:

I had already made a detailed proposal here:

But today, we'll not talk about that, but about Sybils!
There's an ongoing analysis regarding Sybils, in addition to the PoH, which had already helped identify and remove Sybils during the LXP campaign
I think this is a very good thing
Many Sybils did not take the same security measures because of the PoH they successfully passed
Here are the methods I would use to identify Sybils:
1. Look within a timeframe that would allow me to find the maximum number of Sybils:
→ When you go to fishing, you always position yourself in strategic locations to catch as many fish as possible. Here we should focus around the EIP-4844 event.
→ To give a precise time scale: from 20 February 2024, to 4 april 2024.
→ Why? We have seen an explosion of new wallet, especially since the 27 march (day when eip-4844 was activated on Linea).
▫️1.7 million tx on 26 march 2024
▫️3.4 million tx on 02 april 2024
▫️4 million tx on 04 april 2024
*average number of tx from 01 march 2024 to 20 march 2024 was 920k
*you could start Linea Park and complete all the tasks in the last week: many began this voyage late and started later = an exponential number of transactions occurred during the campaign, the closer we get to the end, the more transactions there are and that's normal
2. Apply a filter on new wallets created during this period:
→ Similarities in wallet funding: source exchange, exact date of funding and exact amount of ETH received
→ Activity on other chains
If 1000 wallets are created on 10 March 2024, with funds coming from the same CEX and the same amount of ETH sent (0.001312), without any activity on other chains, no tx on Linea until EIP-4844 is active on Linea, there's a very high probability that he's a Sybil
3. Similarity in transactions:
→ If 1000 wallets have the same funding source, the same day, with the same amount of ETH, the same hourly transaction base, and no transactions on other EVM chains - we are 99% sure it's a Sybil farm
4. Wallet clusters:
→ This is becoming less common as Sybils are now more cautious about this.
However many did not anticipate a more in-depth Sybil analysis on Linea before TGE: we might find tens of thousands of wallets in clusters, but be careful as clusters often contain many false positives
(remember the
@LayerZero_Fndn episode,
@PrimordialAA did an exceptional job but it cost him a few years of life expectancy).
5. TWAB - Time-Weighted-Average-Balances:
Introduced by
$ZK. I think including a TWAB across the entire wallet, not just on the Linea network but across all EVM chains would be beneficial.
Many (real) people have left very little money on Linea because the LXP campaign encouraged presence on the chain for a certain period, and less for the rest of the year
However they *should* hold ETH and other assets on other networks.
The goal is to find those with "ghost" wallets, with a yearly TWAB of $5.
What make this research and hunting hard about Sybils? Many new real Linea users come during Linea Park (20 feb 2024 to now). Precaution should be made to not include them in a report by error and I hope they will get some reward during TGE
