Very useful paper led by @OliJWilson here; happy to have been able to be a part of it, and to have been able to demonstrate the future use of @theNPMS #data for investigating climate change impacts. Thanks also @BBCRadio4 for having me on #Today to talk about it early this am
New paper from @sacrevert and me in @JAppliedEcology ! We looked at the exposure of the UK's habitats to 20th- and 21st-Century climate changes, and tried to figure out how well our ecological monitoring schemes can help us understand the impacts: besjournals.onlinelibrary.wi…

Great overview of all the research made possible thanks to Ronald Good and the Dudley Stamp Map
Land use and species data from the 1930s have allowed us to do a long series of papers on historical ecology In the 1st we presented the first direct evidence of taxonomic homogenisation in the UK showing this as a cause of woodland biodiversity loss doi.org/10.1098/rspb.2009.09…

Historical data contradict the Habitat Amount Hypothesis We find unexpected negative HA relationships for the 1930s (but positive in 2000s) We suggest the HAH is undermined by confounding of HA with other landscape variables Led by @LRidding @BecksSpake onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…
