This meeting looks very interesting, so don't miss the abstract submission deadline. Suzhou is indeed a beautiful location. I was there in April for the CSHA transposon meeting, as you can see my photo visiting Yogita's (from @JakobssonLab ) poster used as a cover image here 😅
Join @LenPennacchio, @ZhipingWeng, @xielablife, me and all speakers in beautiful Suzhou, China for this year's CSH Asia Systems Biology of Gene Regulation & Genome Editing meeting, Oct 20-24. Let's bring the international communities together! Abstract deadline Sept 5! More infos and registration at csh-asia.org/?content/2767

🌟 What makes the Stem Cell Center unique? The Stem Cell Center at #HelmholtzMunich is globally outstanding in its combination of expertise across stem cells, developmental mechanisms, cell plasticity, and epigenetics. This fusion enables the research on reprogramming of local cells to regenerate lost identities in adult organs, such as the brain and pancreas, where stem cells are either scarce or nonexistent. • Unmatched expertise in stem cells and epigenetics • Next-level reprogramming techniques • Translating research into regenerative therapies 🌟 Want to learn more? 🔬 Science Through an Artistic Lens🎨 👉t1p.de/j5pi8 🧬Blending creativity with cutting-edge research, the #RepliFate Artist-in-Residence Program unites artists and scientists to explore DNA replication and its role in cell fate and cancer. Led by Prof. Maria-Elena Torres-Padilla, the program opens new dimensions of thinking – merging the worlds of art and science in unexpected ways. The initiative invites artists into laboratories, allowing them to collaborate directly with researchers and engage with advanced technologies. ✨Bioartist Anna Dumitriu was the first artist-in-residence at the Institute of Epigenetics & Stem Cells at #HelmholtzMunich. Now, three new artists continue the journey with residencies running throughout 2024-2025, curated by Dr. Claudia Schnugg. 🖼️ From Bench to Gallery: Their final works will be unveiled at the RepliFate Conference in 2026. 💬 “This program fosters creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and a broader societal understanding of our science.” – Maria-Elena Torres-Padilla @METorresPadilla @epigeneticsHMGU @AnnaDumitriu @EU_Commission @FateRepli @MSCActions #ArtScience #ArtistInResidence #Epigenetics #MSCActions #BioArt

A Safer, More Precise Way to Control Genes: Introducing dRNPs 🧬 👉t1p.de/f099l Researchers at #HelmholtzMunich, in collaboration with the Helmholtz Protein Expression and Purification Platform (PEPP), have developed a CRISPR-based technology that activates genes without using DNA or viruses. This method – based on dRNPs (dCas9-VPR ribonucleoprotein complexes) – marks a significant leap forward for gene therapy and regenerative medicine, offering a safe, fast, and highly precise alternative to traditional approaches. 💡 What makes dRNPs different? ✅ DNA- and virus-free ✅ Transient and efficient gene activation ✅ Applicable to various human cell types ✅ Capable of activating multiple genes simultaneously 💬“dRNPs are a completely new option to treat cells in a disease context. Since the technology does not induce mutations and is DNA- and virus-free, we have great hopes for its future application in therapeutic contexts.” – Prof. Stefan Stricker, senior author of the study ✨ This innovation sets a new standard in gene modulation – paving the way for safer, more effective treatments. @LabStricker @LMU_Muenchen @epigeneticsHMGU #CRISPR #GeneTherapy #RegenerativeMedicine
