Sucks his starting backcourt got hurt from game 2 on. Riley’s biggest mistake of his career was putting the Lakers through training camp style practices AFTER they had swept the first 3 rounds of the playoffs.

An extremely reliable test of whether you're an honest, sane, & decent human being is whether you agree with this. If you don't, you're not.

Elon Musk does not have a trillion dollars. When someone says that, you know they're liars. Elon Musk owns a percent of the companies he founded, built, and brought public. Now that their stocks are traded, you can quantify the dollar value of that percentage of ownership.
There is no way to morally justify having a trillion dollars

WWI ended in a negotiation and that was disastrous vs. actually taking over Germany and forcing them to realize they lost (stab in the back lie was created). WII ended with something called “unconditional surrender” (not a subtle term) and it actually worked leading to many many years of peace and prosperity. So 1/2 ended with negotiation, and that 1 was a disaster.
Somebody needs a history lesson. 🙄

So the $7 trillion of our money that that the government took and spent last year solved every problem seven times over? I think that would’ve made the news.
A trillion dollars could solve virtually every problem. Any problem at all. But instead it’s all just going to Some Guy

As a Japanese watching the UK right now, I have one simple question. A Sudanese asylum seeker just tried to behead a local man in Belfast. The victim lost an eye. This comes after years of grooming gangs raping thousands of British girls — gangs that police and councils deliberately ignored because they were afraid of being called racist. In Japan, even one case like this would have triggered national outrage and immediate policy reversal. But in Britain, the conversation is still about “not being far-right.” British people, at what point does protecting your own children become more important than protecting your reputation? We genuinely do not understand this.

So far in 2026: We’ve had TEAM USA win Gold in hockey. We’ve had astronauts circling the moon. We’ve got the World Cup here. We have UFC at the White House. Everyone is getting skinny. We’re curing pancreatic cancer. It’s America’s 250th. AND YOU’RE BLACKPILLING?

Growth is not a strategy. Growth is what happens when free people are left alone to pursue their desires, constrained by respect for others property and liberty. I don’t live to fulfill some dreamers coercive “strategy”
Six famous economists — @JosephEStiglitz , @PikettyWIL , @jasonhickel among them — published a manifesto in the @guardian last week: "growth is a doomed strategy." They say they've done the maths. I checked the maths. The claim that growth failed the poor is contradicted by the most uncontroversial dataset in economics: extreme poverty fell from 44% of humanity in 1981 to under 10% today — during the very decades they call a failure. China alone lifted 800 million people, not with a UN roadmap, but with growth. The "92% of excess emissions" statistic? It's one of the authors citing his own paper, without saying so — and it's not a measurement, it's a moral allocation dressed up as data. The policy toolkit — "public control of strategic assets," "credit guidance" — has a track record: Soviet collectivization, the Great Leap Forward, Venezuela, and Sri Lanka's 2021 fertilizer ban, which starved the poor it claimed to serve within eighteen months. What worries me most: degrowth is being marketed to young people who feel locked out — telling them their stagnation is virtue. It's a swindle. The young aren't victims of too much growth. They are the first victims of its absence. Growth is the only anti-poverty program that has ever worked.

The # of leftists who have just shown us that they don’t understand, or worse pretend not to understand, economics is staggering. If you expropriated (stole) 5% of Elon’s stock you have to sell it, then use that cash to compete with other goods and services in the economy. We need to do less of something else (consumption) to do more of whatever it is you want to do. The funding source is irrelevant to the existence of this tradeoff. Oh, and because it’s still most of the consumption, most of the pain of this tradeoff would, as usual, not come from the super-rich, but from the people you pretend to care most about (or you’re just that dumb). Elon is not sitting on a pile of unused health care you can take and hand out.
A 5% tax on Elon’s net worth would fund every community health center in America for the next 26 years. I’ll say it again. Tax the rich.
