We welcome the roll-out of these AI-powered X-ray tools across all NHS trusts. Lung cancer is one of the six less survivable cancers and causes around 35,000 UK deaths per year. Faster diagnosis improves outcomes, so we want to see more investment in tech like this in future.
AI-powered X-ray tools have already helped four million patients get a faster lung cancer diagnosis or the all-clear.
We're rolling this technology out across every NHS trust to speed up diagnosis and treatment.

The Rare Cancers Act 2026 received Royal Assent on Friday - a major milestone for people affected by less survivable cancers. The Taskforce will continue working with government and partners across the UK to ensure this Act delivers real change.
