Part 1 of my Review of the CN Study Report is now live! While I wrote all three parts as one combined letter to be sent to my pastor, I hope for wider engagement from others in PCA as I voice my concerns regarding the Report. open.substack.com/pub/southe…

Well lads, we've sure had a week, But I've got good news- tomorrow is the Lord's Day! Put down those typing fingers and worship with the brethren tomorrow morning.

People seem to respect Mel Duncan. Judging from the very few interactions I've seen...why? How is this person acting in any way that is worthy of respect? How is this any better than the "anons" NAPARC ministers criticize? He makes me ashamed for my church.

Disagree entirely with the tone, but the fact is that these "race realism" virtue-signaling debates are not nearly as important to younger generations. We have actual problems to deal with. The dating market, housing market, AI, offshoring, and migrant job theft.
In 40 yrs 75% of NAPARC members will be dead & their Presbyteries gone. God has cursed their wicked churches & handed them over to Satan. He has removed their candlestick from America & they are Ichabod.

Pastors ought to be focusing on how they can shepherd the young through the societally destructive forces of feminism, mass migration, and liberal government, not on attacking young churchmen because they want to oppose societal decay.

Okay NAPARC, I know we've all had fun putting together statements about how we aren't racist or bigots and how wanting a Christian nation is bad if you want it too much. But can we please get back to getting rid of the sheperdesses now?

I think for a lot of these guys, the legacy of the Civil Rights movement, and that the church was considered to be on the wrong side by the mainstream culture, still haunts them. So they work to never again let the church be tied to a conservative/anti-liberal cultural stance.
Bruce Backensto of the RPCNA addresses the URCNA Synod & asks for prayer for the quandary they’ve put themselves in regarding the perplexing decision to depose & excommunicate his “friend” @ket38111, and what to do with his appeal against their judgment.

You simply have to remember these guys are pastors- they work every week to convert people. Slavery and segregation is, for them, a stain on the church the likes of which they never want to return. Thus in their mind, much conservative politics represents a barrier to evangelism.

Unless you recover the categories of classical Protestantism, the Chrisitan view of politics will either be transformational, missional, or separatist. And thats the main issue they're having.

Maybe something like this, but I’m NOT a church council: “[rejecting] any theological or political teaching that claims, implies, or promotes the inherent superiority or inferiority of any people, nation, race, or ethnic group, as though empirical moral differences between peoples were grounded in differing human nature; while also recognizing that peoples and cultures may be genuinely shaped, elevated, or corrupted over time by religion, custom, law, and the presence or absence of the gospel.”

Do you think that this statement is attempting to address a real problem in Reformed churches? And if so, how would you craft the statement?

"Without [a distinction in condition] human society could not exist..Nor if the law of nature makes all men equal with regard to nature does it follow that they are equal with regard to qualities and external condition.” -Francis Turretin, Institutes of Elenctic Theology, 11.2.18
“Again : are all men naturally equal in strength, in virtue, in capacity, or in rights? The thought is preposterous.” Reformed Presbyterian Minister, R.L. Dabney

I think I've figured out why the NAPARC fears the right but not the Left. NAPARC, like Nick Fuentes, makes their living by complaining about the world and its liberalism. The more power the Left has, the better for NAPARC, as they can make themselves look better by comparison.
Chris Folkerts from New Covenant URC in Twin Falls, ID laments the influence of @PerfInjust, @New_Christendom, and the @crechurches as he begs the URCNA Synod to adopt the ARP statement since three families in their church are at a conference entitled “The War for Normal”.

And if the Right starts getting wins, you have to be MORE than just a minority opposition with a bullhorn. You have to craft a positive vision for the world and society. You have to shift into positioning yourself as a mainline church again, which they hate to do.

Simply put, the problem NAPARC has with the New Right is the same problem the GOP has- they both desire to be the big fish in the small pond.

"This isn't about the statement in its own terms, its about making a statement to the world". I remember churches saying the same thing during BLM. How is this not the ecumenism of the social gospel all over again?
Alan Strange addresses the URCNA Synod on why it is imperative for NAPARC churches like the URCNA to recognize the historic moment & adopt or commend the ARP Statement without revision to make a statement against the people on the “far right” who are attacking “our churches.”

Any time the Church has rallied around the institution of the church rather than the truths of Christ, the church has greatly suffered.

Lmao, in the video itself Strange notes that this is exactly the same as with George Floyd. The only difference is that "liberals were doing it then, but we're conservative!" Lol. Lmao, even.

I think a lot of people forget that guns don't just give us the ability to keep things in check. But they also increase the temperature at which it takes a country to boil. I think most firearms owners understand that unlike most places, if that door opens you can't just close it again. The house will burn down. You can only sift through ashes and rebuild at that point.
"The americans will never do this" Oh my sweet summer child. Its not that we won't. Its that this isnt europe. When we light it up, a lot of people are going to die. most are really trying to avoid that.....for your sake.

Part 3 is now live. I imagine this will be the part folks will disagree with the most. After all, its just like, my opinion, man! But the concerns I lay out regarding the PCA are as much the reason for writing this report as the objective concerns. open.substack.com/pub/southe…

Part 2 is now live, discussing what I believe to be the Study Report's violations of the Spirituality of the Church that indicate the adoption of liberal presuppositions. open.substack.com/pub/southe…
