INTERESTING; Trinamool ‘rebel’ MPs to reportedly merge with a small obscure Tripura-based party, Nationalist Citizen Party of India. Whoever imagined a day when Bengal’s politicians would seek refuge in Tripura! Politics has a wicked sense of irony. In India, kuch bhi ho sakta hai! (as an aside, when a channel flashed TMC rebels to merge with NCPI, Sharad Pawar must have wondered ‘yeh kab hua!’😊)

From Coastline to Connectivity, Shaping Mumbai’s Landscape Inspected the ongoing work of the 'Mumbai Coastal Road Project North' today, reshaping a faster, greener and better-connected city. Designed to provide seamless connectivity from Nariman Point and Marine Drive to the western suburbs, Bhayandar, Thane, and beyond, this landmark project aims to reduce traffic congestion, travel time, and pollution. This corridor will also be extended up to Virar and the Vadhavan Port, Palghar in the future. Travel time from Versova to Dahisar is expected to reduce from 120–140 minutes to just 15–20 minutes. Additionally, an elevated connector from the coastal road to the upcoming Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) will further strengthen Mumbai's transport network. The Mumbai Coastal Road North (MCRN) Extension from Versova to Bhayandar features innovative engineering elements, including double elevated roads, roads on stilts in mangrove areas, 2 cable-stayed bridges, 4 basket-type bridges, twin underground tunnels, and 10 interchanges. Spread across seven packages A, B, C, D, E, F, and DBLR, the project covers 26.32 km of main road and 32.94 km of interchanges, connectors, and ramps. The project is expected to create employment opportunities, lower vehicle operating costs, and support regional growth, with an Economic Rate of Return (ERR) of 11%. Sustainability is central to the project, with a strong focus on carbon neutrality, while the CM War Room closely monitors progress to keep the project on schedule. The project is expected to reduce carbon emissions by nearly 48%, contributing significantly to a cleaner urban environment. Mangrove conservation remains a priority, with the Maharashtra Government actively expanding and protecting mangrove cover through plantations and dedicated parks. 'Mumbai Coastal Road Project North' is redefining the urban landscape with smoother connectivity, sustainability, and future-ready Mumbai. Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar, BJP Mumbai President MLA Ameet Satam, MLA Sanjay Upadhyay, MLA Prakash Surve ji, Mumbai Mayor Ritutai Tawde, Deputy Mayor Sanjay Ghadi and senior officials were present. @ShelarAshish @AmeetSatam @SanjayRupadhyay @miprakashsurve @TawdeRitu @misanjayghadi #Maharashtra #Mumbai #NorthCoastalRoad

A tragic incident has shocked Maharashtra's Solapur district after a school principal, his wife and their two children were found dead at their residence. Police suspect the deaths may be linked to severe financial distress arising from substantial losses in the stock market. The deceased have been identified as Yogesh Balasaheb Patil, a headmaster at a Zilla Parishad school in Chaugaon (Bk.) in Nandurbar district, his wife Madhuri Patil (37), and their two sons, Atharv (11) and Shivansh (9). According to police, the incident is believed to have occurred on Thursday night. The matter came to light on Friday morning when a milk delivery person arrived at the family's home and received no response despite repeated attempts to contact them. Suspecting something was wrong, neighbours helped force open the door and discovered the bodies inside the house. Police said Yogesh Patil was found hanging, while the bodies of his wife and children were found elsewhere in the residence. Preliminary findings suggest that the family may have consumed a poisonous substance before Patil allegedly took his own life. However, officials said the exact sequence of events will be determined following a detailed investigation and forensic examination. Investigators believe Patil had been under significant financial and emotional strain due to losses incurred through stock market investments. As per preliminary information, he allegedly suffered losses of nearly Rs 1.8 crore. Police sources said he had also lost a substantial amount of family savings and had reportedly borrowed money from relatives and friends, leaving him under mounting financial pressure. A 22-page note was recovered from the residence. Police said the document contains details relating to financial transactions, debts and property-related wishes. Officials added that, based on an initial examination, Patil did not hold any individual directly responsible for his death. Following the discovery, police teams led by local officers reached the scene and launched an investigation. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and a case has been registered. Authorities are examining all aspects of the incident, including the family's financial circumstances and the contents of the note. The deaths have left residents of Hattij village and members of the education community in deep shock, with many expressing grief over the loss of an entire family.

His body has remained onboard for over 2 days with no proper refrigeration. Crew is using cold water bottles in a desperate attempt to slow decomposition — a horrifying and health-risking situation. Despite repeated distress calls, timely medical evacuation was reportedly delayed amid regional tensions. FSUI and the captain are urgently demanding body preservation/repatriation, crew support, and full investigation into the response failures. RIP Nishanth. Deepest condolences to his family and crew. #WATCH | Mumbai, Maharashtra: On FIR registered against TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut says, "If FIRs are being filed in this manner against provocative speeches, then why were no FIRs filed against people like Anurag Thakur for the kind of provocative speeches they gave during the Delhi elections? In Uttar Pradesh, every BJP leader gives such speeches, so why are no FIRs filed against them? Mamata Banerjee is a fighter politician. You (BJP) want to corner and finish her from all sides, but we are all with her. She is not a woman who fears FIRs."

VIDEO | Nagpur: On reports of NCP merger, NCP(SP) MP Supriya Sule (@supriya_sule) says, “We do not know anything about it. Neither the respected Pawar saheb knows anything about it, nor do I, nor Shashikant Shinde ji, nor Jayant Patil ji. In our party, no one has made any proposal, and no one has given us any proposal. Neither have we made any proposal, nor have they." On three Indian crew members killed in a US military strike on a commercial vessel off the Oman coast, she says, “It is a very tragic incident and deeply saddening the way it happened. We lost three Indians. We expected that the Government of India should respond to this. Those three children belonged to this soil; they were Indians. In honour of their dignity and respect, India should take a strong stand. We expect the Government of India to discuss this matter, and if the government is unable to do anything through its foreign policy, then the opposition stands with those families. And if the government cannot fight for them, then we, on behalf of every Indian and every child, will stand up and fight for every Indian." (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)

Pune, Maharashtra: On PM Modi, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut says, "Such an 'aghori' person has never been born in Indian politics. Such a cruel person has never been born. Great leaders like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri, P.V. Narasimha Rao, Rajiv Gandhi, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Balasaheb Thackeray were born from this soil. But when we see Modi ji's entire character, we fear — where did he come from? He comes from the same soil from which Aurangzeb was born. Aurangzeb was born in Gujarat, wasn't he?"
