The right wing folks who applaud Elon Musk for becoming a trillionaire and claim it’s because of his ‘hard work’ and ‘intelligence’ really show they have no idea how our tax system benefits certain people over others. Almost everyone pays a much higher effective tax rate than billionaires. This is because billionaires don’t get most of their money as wages like normal people. Instead, they often borrow against their stock holdings. They don’t pay capital gains taxes on the stock because they don’t sell it, they just use it as collateral for loans. You might then ask, ‘Don’t they have to pay taxes on the loan or pay the loan back?’ The answer to the first part is no. The loan itself isn’t a taxable event. And do they have to pay back the loan? Also no. The banks or brokers making these loans will happily roll them over indefinitely for their billionaire clients. So where does that leave us? When essentially none of the wealth accruing to these very rich people can be reached through normal taxation, billionaires have a minuscule effective tax rates. Here are some examples of the rich paying almost nothing in taxes: • Warren Buffett: 0.1% • Jeff Bezos: 0.98% • Michael Bloomberg: 1.3% • Elon Musk: 3.27% Elon Musk becoming a trillionaire isn’t proof he’s a spectacular person. It’s proof we have a tax system that rewards wealth and capital ownership far more than it rewards work.

I was fact checking MAGA folks on Trump’s shit economy. I was told I wasn't gonna be invited to Trump’s birthday UFC Freedom 250 fight. That's fine by me, I don't want to hangout with the who's who of the Epst**n list! 🤣😂

So Iran opens the strait, gets a fee per ship passing through, gets $10 billion in cash minimum up front, and we punt on nuclear terms till later. This is an American surrender to a terrorist regime sold this morning to various conservative outlets to cheerlead.

Of the seven (now eight) ASR polls conducted, Sullivan led in just one, back in July–August of last year. Meanwhile, Peltola has been at or around 50% for nearly a year. It’s hard to see how she isn’t the favorite here.
Alaska Survey Research poll | 6/4-6/7 LV US Senate Alaska 2026 🟦Mary Peltola 49.4% [ 1.0] 🟥Dan Sullivan 44.2% [-0.4] (incumbent) 🟥Gerald Heikes 3.7% [-1.4] 🟥Dustin Darden 2.7% [no change] (Change from 5/14-5/17)

This is not our election process, and there were no "statistical impossibilities" - or even improbabilities - that even suggest fraud in L.A. What we are witnessing, as in 2020, are people who cannot accept defeat offering imaginary reasons why their preferred candidate lost.

The American people aren’t buying what Trump and MAGA are selling. Americans see an economy where everything gets more expensive because of dumb wars of choice in Iran and illegal tariffs, while President Trump uses his presidency to enrich himself and his family. President Trump is so detached from Americans’ economic reality that he recently said “I love the inflation.” Well first off he should “love the inflation” because his policies created it. Second, he is fine with the economy since he is as rich as he has ever been due to his rampant corruption. Despicable.
