Additionally, I enjoyed studying molecular and cellular biology in high school and university. Since then, conducting research has been a deliberate pursuit in my academic life. #FunFact: I love building Lego, both sets and MOC. I've found that being organized, meticulous, and creative are qualities that both building Lego and doing science have in common. Through this process, I've learned to use my imagination and experiment with different approaches to problem-solving. ALT #BestPartOfScience: Science is a lot like solving a big jigsaw puzzle – every day you add a few new pieces and slowly reveal the underlying picture. It is so exciting when you start to see the image coming together! #BecomingAScientist: I like the challenge that science poses – you never quite finish figuring something out, and answers generate more questions, making it a very exciting job. #FunFuctAboutScience: A lot of those ‘A-HA’ moments happen when you’re not in the office. #CareerAdvice: On those frustrating days when I feel like I’m not making any progress, I remind myself that I’m still inching closer to the answer. Life as a scientist can be anything but monotonous. #CareerMotivation: My training in engineering taught me how to reduce complex systems into simplified sub-systems, and science gave me the freedom and opportunity to explore my creativity to design new tools to find solutions for complex problems. #FunFact: I am an avid foodie and enjoy re-creating recipes. In a recipe, each ingredient must be added in order and proportion to achieve the desired outcome.
