I'm with Finland's Foreign Minister on this. Keep Russians in Russia. They are not welcome in the civilized world.
We can't have Russian citizens enjoying the freedoms of European life while the Kremlin continues its missile attacks against Ukrainian families and cities. Together with Sweden, we call on the Commission and Member States to uphold a stricter visa policy for Russian applicants.

No. Sigh. Maple MAGA has immediately conjured up some conspiracies. Am I the only one noticing a big spike in very Russian flavored trolls in 🇺🇸🇨🇦 social media again. The pro Russia influencer accounts are scary- pure Russian propaganda and ignorant Americans lap it up.

When Notre-Dame burned in 2019, the world stopped. Today, Russia damages Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a monastery nearly 1,000 years old and older than Notre-Dame itself. A thousand years of history deserves the same attention, the same sympathy, and the same protection.

⚡️Irish alumina exports to Russia escape latest EU sanctions, but political pressure is growing. The EU's forthcoming sanctions package won't include Ireland's alumina exports to Russia, but a new letter by members of the European Parliament (MEPs), combined with pressure from Estonia's foreign minister and civil society activists, shows the issue is not going to disappear over the summer. kyivindependent.com/movement…

Further to my tweet this morning here is the survey evidence of how far goverment is failing to meet public desire for much stronger oversight and regulation of AI. Note that fully 1% don't think they should be made aware of AI generated content . Massive majority want it banned from political campaigns. And yet.....

Alberta LOST 365 doctors last quarter…
Nova Scotia recently achieved a major healthcare milestone by hiring 278 new doctors in a single year. And even after factoring in 79 physicians who retired or moved away, the province secured a remarkable net gain of 199 new doctors. A growing number of these medical professionals are relocating from the U.S., drawn by the unique advantages of working in Canada. Many physicians find that Nova Scotia is an ideal place to practice medicine right now because it offers a much better environment than the American system. For instance, doctors here experience far less bureaucracy since they do not have to fight with complex private insurance companies, the facilities are just largely better than in the US, and there's a communication and understanding with patients that seems to be lacking in the United States compared to Canada. They can focus directly on patient care. Not va Scotia also provides a healthier work-life balance with its beautiful coastal communities and welcoming neighborhoods. On top of that, Nova Scotia made history as the first province to let U.S. board-certified doctors practice immediately without taking extra exams. Premier Houston highlighted that this massive influx of talent will directly lead to way more appointments and much faster access to care for families across the province. 🇨🇦 #canpoli #nspoli

Carney: Canada is very pleased to be accepting your invitation to join this exceptionally important initiative, Ocean Eye. The European Union, as is often the case, increasingly the case, stepping up to help solve global challenges.

Viktor Orban will never become a Hungarian PM again 👀 Hungary’s parliament has passed a constitutional amendment capping the total time any individual can serve as prime minister at eight years. The measure was approved by 135 votes in favor and 50 against.

Then do something. Declare the “Armed Forces of the Russian Federation” to be a terrorist entity. Sever diplomatic relations with the so-called Russian Federation. Close russian terrorist bases in Canada fronting as embassies/consulates.
Canada strongly condemns Russia’s latest attack on Kyiv, including the strike on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a sacred site in Ukraine and Eastern Christianity.    Canada stands with Ukraine. Their cause — freedom, democracy, sovereignty — is our cause.

Today, Ukraine and Moldova officially opened the first negotiation cluster on the path to EU membership. This historic decision helps define what Europe will look like in the decades ahead and what kind of Europe we will leave to future generations. Russia launched its full-scale invasion in an attempt to block Ukraine’s European choice, to deny our European future. But this plan has failed. Ukraine is moving closer to the European Union than ever before. Every step of our accession process is proof that coercion, terror, and war cannot stop a nation from choosing its own path. Path of dignity, freedom and justice. Ukraine completed the screening process faster than any candidate country in the history of EU enlargement. We have fulfilled the conditions to open all negotiating clusters. We are ready to move forward. There is no objective reason for delay. EU enlargement is not charity. It is an investment in a stronger, safer, and more resilient Europe. Europe that will be better equipped to defend itself against future threats. Ukraine’s accession will strengthen the Union politically, economically, and strategically. I thank the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU, the European Commission, and all EU member states for their support and joint efforts that made this decision possible. On this day we opened the first cluster. Our goal remains unchanged: to open all remaining clusters as soon as possible and move steadily toward full EU membership. Today's decision sends a message far beyond Brussels, Luxembourg, Kyiv, or Chișinău. Europe moves forward. Ukraine moves forward. And no one has a veto over our future.

History won't be so kind to Ireland when it investigates what Russian aluminum is made from. Here's an illustration how strong Irish alumina is. x.com/MFA_Ukraine/status/206…

The Kyiv Cave Monastery bell tower is playing the Ukrainian national anthem while rescuers are extinguishing a fire at the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra and Mystetskyi Arsenal following Russia’s overnight attack. The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra is one of the most important places of Christianity, which has survived centuries of history and many tragedies. Today it is facing Russian barbarism. The Mystetskyi Arsenal, a major cultural venue for exhibitions and events, was also hit and damaged by Russia. Moscow deliberately targeted some of the most important historic and cultural sites in Kyiv. A strong international response is needed. The aggressor state must not be allowed to freely destroy world cultural heritage.

This afternoon, Parliament will vote on limiting the Hungarian Prime Minister’s term in office to a maximum of eight years, and we will also discuss the migrant camp planned by @PM_ViktorOrban.

Had a chat with a friend in the military about Crimea. He thinks the public and most militaries do not yet fully grasp the enormous significance of what Ukraine did. Putting an entire region the size of Massachusetts under a blockade, without a navy or ground force, but drones.
