Yesterday, I diagnosed a patient with a pulmonary embolism confirmed on CT.
When discussing treatment, we had two effective options:
💉 Injection (Clexane SC)
💊 Pill (Apixaban oral)
Guess which one she chose.
>She never asked about efficacy percentages.
>She never asked about study designs.
>She asked whether she could avoid injections.

It’s a useful reminder when thinking about the obesity market.
Investors obsess over efficacy curves, which one produces most weight loss etc.
Patients often start with a much simpler question:
“Can I take it as a pill?”
Never underestimate the commercial power of convenience

People geniunely forget $NVO is a diabetes powerhouse. You basically buy a diabetes duopoly and get a free option on the weight loss business growing at 22% YoY

#PRESS: New real-world evidence presented at the ADA Scientific Sessions suggests adults with type 2 diabetes who escalated to an available higher once-weekly injectable semaglutide dose were as likely to achieve blood sugar goals and more likely to achieve meaningful weight loss compared to switching to another therapy.

We are presenting phase two clinical data at the ADA Scientific Sessions showcasing investigational zenagamtide's ability to significantly reduce blood sugar and body weight in adults with type 2 diabetes.
Based on these results, zenagamtide will advance into phase three clinical trials.

IQVIA prescription data for the week ending May 29 are out.
$NVO Oral Wegovy recorded 134,054 prescriptions in week 21, compared to 146,000 in week 20.
Meanwhile, $LLY Foundayo recorded 16,982 prescriptions in week 8, up from 16,011 in week 7.
For comparison, Oral Wegovy recorded 73,544 prescriptions in its own week 8.
Keep in mind that the reporting week included Memorial Day, resulting in only a four-day business week in the U.S.

$NVO will officially open its new manufacturing facility in the Czech Republic next week.
The site was acquired from Novavax in 2024 for $200M and has since undergone multi-billion Czech koruna investments to prepare it for production of ingredients used in Novo Nordisk’s next generation of obesity and diabetes medicines.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for June 12 and is expected to be attended by Novo CEO Mike Doustdar and Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.
The facility previously produced ingredients for Novavax’s COVID-19 vaccine before being acquired by Novo.
