🧵 Here is the TRUTH: Dangerous gain-of-function research was funded by the U.S. government around the world, directed and approved by people like Dr Fauci. @DNIGabbard exposed that yesterday. Using U.S. government data, put together and uncovered by career subject matter experts in the Intelligence Community and other government agencies, yesterday’s release highlighted one example of the many overseas biolabs funded by the U.S., the research conducted there, and the significant risks they pose to the world, especially when located in a country at war. 🔗 dni.gov/files/BIOLAB_Slides.…

It is criminal that our government enabled a bat virus to infect and spread between humans. Indeed, it is hard to imagine a bigger betrayal of our species. It is equally troubling that the mad scientists who did this then gaslit all the people of the world about it, including those who CORRECTLY interpreted the evidence. Then, of course, the very same monsters amped up fear of the Covid frankenvirus and steered the panicked public away from safe medicines, and toward an obviously dangerous gene-therapy which they falsely called a vaccine in order to lure us into acceptance. These are among the greatest crimes EVER committed against humanity. We now have persuasive evidence of everything I have said above. If we don't correct the record and hold the perpetrators to account, this pattern will happen again, and again, and again--shortening our life expectancy, and degrading our quality of life each time that it does. This is our Nuremberg moment. We can not simply move on from this ghastly chapter of history. We must finish it. @brownstoneinst

A 19-year-old college student quietly turns down a job interview, stupidly telling the company it's because he doesn't want to work for a Jew. Within two days: -- The billionaire founder of one of the world's most powerful corporations (Palantir) demands that the company release his the student's to the world. The company instantly complies. -- National media trumpet the incident and spread the student's name and face all over the place. -- A senior Trump DOJ official repeatedly urges the public to notify him if that student is ever hired anywhere in the future, promising to use his office to keep the student permanently unemployable. Adults with large, influential platforms -- pundits, media types, even elected officials -- right here on X routinely say things as bad as, and often much worse than, pretty much every other group you can think of without facing a single consequence let alone a completely unhinged coordinated campaign of very powerful people to run their lives forever:

GML 5.2, a Chinese open-source model, comprehensively outperforms Fable 5 on reasoning and Beam Search — the core tasks you actually ask of an AI — at one tenth of the cost and 300 tokens per second. Fable 5 will be back very soon. eclaireur.eu/p/ai-an-intelli…

I almost feel sorry for the Trump officials and media allies who have to claim that this disastrous war of aggression somehow produced a deal meaningfully better than the JCPOA. Fortunately for them, there is still a rump of MAGA influencers willing to repeat anything:

Hegseth: The document says Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, won't seek one, won't buy one, won't have one. Brennan: JCPOA said that too. Hegseth: The huge difference is we did this from a position of strength.

Two days ago the US banned Claude Fable 5. Yesterday China dropped GLM 5.2. Today GLM 5.2 is #1 on @bridgebench BS at 100.0, and #1 on Reasoning at 42.8, beating Fable 5. At 1/10th the cost and 300 tokens per second. You cannot export control your way out of an open source race. The ban didn't slow China down. Unban Fable 5.

Trump is being presented with a binary choice: cut a deal or escalate the war. At this point, the reality we are in based on the conditions we have allowed means that either way, Trump will be criticized for cutting a worse deal than Obama’s or will be forced further into a war worse than Bush's. But we have a third option, no deal required: just declare victory and walk away. Until Israel is restrained, they will drag us back into war just like they did after Operation Midnight Hammer. Unless we reset the conditions on our terms, we will ultimately suffer an endless cycle of conflict at the behest of Israel. Trump should reject the Obama/Bush binary and handle this his way—walk away, pull our troops out, cut aid to Israel, say he won, & quietly deal with the Iranians moving forward. This way, Iran loses its incentive to choke the SOH, freeing up oil commerce & avoiding an escalation into a war no one wants and which we can’t afford. Persia is an ancient and formidable geographic reality—we must deal with them as such.
BREAKING: A diplomat involved in US-Iran peace talks says Israeli strikes on Beirut, Lebanon, today have created issues with finalizing a deal, per Fox News. The diplomat says the strikes are an attempt to "sabotage President Trump's deal and drag the US back into war." Yesterday, President Trump said a peace deal was scheduled to be signed today.

My interview with @MarioNawfal on what this war did to America’s standing in the world: “Uncle Sam has become a gas bag with no partners. We had allies before the event. Now we have fewer allies. The international perception of the US is highly, highly negative.”

There you have it. Anthropic's CEO said it: The murder of more than 100 schoolgirls in Minab targeted by Anthropic's CLAUDE "is a use case that doesn't even violate our red lines." Time to rise up against these technofeudal war criminals.
CEO of Anthropic Dario Amodei awkwardly smiles through his answer to a question about why Claude AI directly contributed to the US Military bombing of the elementary school in Minab.

You can’t stop this train this way. All the cheerleading for private development of AI…and we still wind up here. This AI, as I have said before, is a malfunctioning bleeding-edge military-grade research project sold direct to consumer for reasons that remain somewhat unclear.
I’ve had a number of conversations with folks inside and outside government about the current situation with Anthropic, and here is what I believe to be true: — As we know, Anthropic publicly released its Mythos class models earlier this week under the commercial name Fable. — Fable is Mythos with guardrails. But if those guardrails fail, then you’ve exposed Mythos and its advanced cyber capabilities to people who shouldn’t have them. (Keep in mind that Anthropic itself widely promoted the idea that Mythos was a cyberweapon and needed to be regulated as such. They asked for government regulation of Mythos and championed the guardrails on Fable. If there is a vulnerability — big or small — it is Anthropic’s responsibility to patch.) — A highly credible trusted partner of both Anthropic and the USG who was testing Fable came forward with a jailbreak of those guardrails. The Admin asked Dario to fix the jailbreak or de-deploy the model. Dario refused. — In their blog post, Anthropic defended its decision by saying the jailbreak isn’t serious. That is not what the trusted partner and the USG believe; nor is that kind of minimizing language consistent with Anthropic’s brand as the AI safety company. It’s difficult to fathom how they could claim a jailbreak allowing operability of a cyber weapon could be defined as not “serious.” — In the past, Anthropic has always said that safety must be top priority and taken super seriously. In this case, Anthropic prioritized the continued offering of the consumer model over safety. — In reaction, the Admin issued the export control. The Admin did this reluctantly. It’s been very surprised that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to cooperate with a reasonable safety request (ie fixing the jailbreak issue). Anthropic’s reaction is very much at odds with their branding and ethos as a safe AI research community. — The Admin’s hope now is that Anthropic remediates the safety issue, the export control is lifted, and Fable goes back into general release. The Admin wants all of this to happen as soon as possible. It is frankly bewildered that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to comply with safety requests that it previously said were its highest priority. — Those trying to misdirect and tie this action to the prior DoW/Anthropic issues are wrong. The Admin values Anthropic’s technical capabilities and feels that this issue, while serious, should be easily resolved. The ball is in Anthropic’s court.

The U.S. order to suspend foreigners' access to Anthropic's latest models is a stark reminder for Europe that it's heavily reliant on American AI models — and that the window to change that is closing. politico.eu/article/us-anthr…
