Even today, the stories of the Second World War are still being written @WeHaveWaysPod @almurray @James1940 @SimonVerdegem @ProfPeterDoyle @usabmc @dodpaa @sommecourt
Today we remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, doubly appropriate to remember Lt. Frank Fazekas, our first archaeological recovery. He was shot down over #France OTD in 1944 flying a P-47 near Saint-Omer. He is now in @ArlingtonNatl @usabmc @dodpaa @UWMadison

Busy afternoon with all 3 @UWMedFlight HEMS teams bringing patients to @UWHealth at the same time. 50 years of physician experience, 40 of nursing experience, 30 of pilot experience...the people make the program. @ATACCFaculty @MadtownEM @AMPAdocs @UWEmerMed @NAEMSP @DipRTM

Listening to the pod today @BoneyAbroad, does the Pima museum still hold the B-26 Marauder archives?

We are honored to announce that our latest case in partnership with @dodpaa is now closed, and SSgt Stevens has been accounted for. He was shot down 23 Dec 44 outside Bastogne #Belgium and MIA for 79 years until our @UWMadison and @UWSystem team recovered him. @StateRelations

A painting was created of the last moments of the “Shirley D” on 23 Dec 1944. We believe it was commissioned by a family member of one of the crew, but a copy was purchased and hangs in our offices at @UWMadison @dodpaa

A few days later, the AGRS was able to identify and account for 2 of the crewman who had remained onboard, but it wasn’t until over 75 years later, after an archaeological dig in the hot summer heat, that the final crewmember would be accounted for. 5/🧵
