We study morphological features that are used to distinguish species taxonomically and those that are important for reproduction and fitness. Some of the tools we use to address our research questions are natural history collections, molecular systematic techniques, electron microscopy, and manipulation experiments. Katie did a fantastic job in presenting her work at the Appalachian Regional Microscopy Society Meeting. She won “Innovation Award” for her great work using electron microscopy. Katie learned her EM skills from electron microscopy class that we offer through @BCMB_UTK
