Supporting debates is apparently White Nationalism now.
It feels like @RONDESANTIS is going out of his way right now to get a White nationalist on a debate stage. And only a few months after the administration went out of its way to distance itself from Fishback's antics.

Florida will have four straight years of reducing spending once next fiscal year’s budget is approved. That is not just inflation-adjusted or per capita (which it is) but in simply nominal dollars the state is spending less. It can be done!
A message to residents of @CityofJax regarding property taxes. Government should never grow faster than inflation population. Under @lennycurry the budget was UNDER the benchmark by $38.5M (last 3 years) showing fiscal restraint. Under @DonnaDeegan the budget was OVER the benchmark by a whopping $623M (last 3 years) showing zero fiscal restraint. Please, don’t tell me keeping government growth under inflation and population is impossible.

If you weren’t already convinced that Dr. Bell will make a great president for @UF, consider that this legitimate psychopath is his loudest opponent.
Ron DeSantis is a fraud. He built a brand out of pretending to be a “based” Governor who “opposes DEI”. Now, he’s having his communications director @AlexLanfran post op Eds that lie to the people of Florida about Stuart Bell, who @GovRonDeSantis just endorsed to be the next President of @UF Univeristy of Florida. Bell is the former President of Univeristy of Alabama and he LOVES DEI. When he was President of Univeristy of Alabama, Bell opposed Senate Bill 129 (SB 129), an Alabama state law that banned DEI. He insisted on keeping DEI at Univeristy of Alabama, and now he’s trying to ruin UF. Ron DeSantis’s largest donor is an Iranian (you can’t make this up) named Mori Hosseini, who is the Chairman of the Board at UF. DeSantis is supporting Bell because his top donor wants him to be UF President despite knowing Bell is going to turn UF into a DEI haven. DeSantis is trying to screw Florida on the way out because he’s so bitter he will never be President of the US and he wants to leave Florida a mess for whoever replaces him as Governor in January of 2027. Stuart Bell is a DEI advocate and he has no business being the President of UF. Ron DeSantis and his Iranian donor want your kids to be brainwashed by DEI while they pretend DeSantis is a hero fighting DEI. It’s the ultimate bait and switch. Ron DeFraud is more like it. Read my full expose here: DeSantis And His Top Donor Endorse Stuart Bell As Next University Of Florida President Despite His Pro-DEI Record loomered.com/2026/06/13/desa…

The chairman of the party should not be insulting the intelligence of Republican voters. A debate was promised and these ridiculous criteria are being used to renege on that promise and to engineer a preferred outcome. Why not just take 90 minutes, find a tv partner, and let the candidates mix it up? The only reason why you wouldn’t is if the party hierarchy is serving outside interests instead of the best interests of the voters.

“But glittering prizes And endless compromises Shatter the illusion of integrity, yeah”
FL's @GovRonDeSantis criticizes the @FloridaGOP's debate criteria, saying the party should not “engineer an outcome” in the governor’s primary: “There should be a debate... having an open process and having people be able to have their say is always better.”

The governor supports the ability for candidates to debate. He has not singled out anyone in particular.
Governor Ron DeSantis has come out in support of James Fishback and levies criticism against the Florida GOP for not hosting Fishback for a debate. “It’s counterproductive when you try to engineer an outcome.”

In Florida, we work to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly and that public programs serve the people they are intended to serve. That means holding government accountable and rooting out fraud wherever it exists.   With the Medicaid integrity initiative I announced today, Florida will continue leading the way in protecting taxpayers and rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse.

Fraudsters beware! Under the leadership of @GovRonDeSantis, Florida will not tolerate fraud in Medicaid or any other program. Those services are meant for vulnerable populations; not to line pockets. Perpetrators will be terminated from the program or referred for criminal prosecution. Keep up the good work @AHCA_FL.
Today in West Palm Beach, I announced major actions to strengthen the integrity of Florida’s Medicaid program and to crack down on fraud:   ✔️ @AHCA_FL is partnering with SentiLink, a leading identity fraud detection company that specializes in uncovering complex schemes to defraud taxpayers. This technology will help screen providers and identify suspicious activity even before bad actors are able to exploit the Medicaid program. ✔️ AHCA has imposed enrollment moratoriums on certain provider categories that are high-risk for fraud, including durable medical equipment suppliers and adult day cares. Florida is implementing stronger screening measures and ensuring proper oversight—not using your tax dollars to pay fraudulent claims, then investigate years later. ✔️ AHCA is launching a comprehensive statewide revalidation effort for all active Florida Medicaid providers, requiring them to verify their credentials and identities.   Medicaid dollars should be spent on patient care, not fraud schemes.

Governor DeSantis understands that politicians work for the people and have to earn their support. Floridians deserve the chance to vet candidates, hear them debate the issues, and make up their own minds about who should lead our state.

Return it to taxpayers!
The new leader in the clubhouse for wasteful and excessive spending is Miami-Dade County with over $470M in FY ‘25/‘26 and a grand total of $807M over the last 3 years. That’s an insane amount of overspending. Miami-Dade is quickly becoming the poster child for unsustainable government growth.

The bottom line is we were successful in enacting protections for ratepayers so that companies cant pass on costs from data centers to ratepayers. But the FL House blocked out AI Bill of Rights (passed 37-1 by the Senate) so those protections have not been enacted into law.
Replying to @RonDeSantis
So what is the bottom line for Floridians, Sir? Is the state working on protecting us if need be from the effects of these massive data centers? The proposed data center in DeSoto County will be one of the largest in the world. The company bringing it to DeSoto County has information on their website 🥴but we need to hear from you, please. 🙏

The Wall Street Journal defending bloated local budgets and opposing property tax relief for Florida homeowners. Florida hasn‘t raised the homestead exemption outright since 1980 and the last partial exemption increase was enacted almost 20 years ago. Both times people made similar arguments against property tax relief. Although the ballot measure passed by the Legislature differs from my proposal, it is the best opportunity Floridians have had in years to obtain meaningful relief. It is not “progressive”; it applies to all FL homesteads, modest to extravagant.
A poorly designed ballot measure pushed by Gov. Ron DeSantis would put Florida on the slippery slope of a progressive property tax regime. on.wsj.com/4unYEQN

Incredibly lazy by the Wall Street Journal. 1) A tax break somewhere does not mean a tax increase elsewhere. That's a progressive argument to prevent any form of tax relief. Florida runs surpluses and county revenues have nearly doubled over the last 8 years. Local governments can afford to cut spending. 2) Comparing DeSantis to Mamdani is embarrassing. The Governor is not advocating for INCREASED taxes on wealthy Floridians. Mamdani, meanwhile, proposed a 9.5% property tax increase on everyday New Yorkers. The Governor simply saying that Palm Beach billionaires will still pay property tax on any home that is not a homestead. 3) The WSJ fails to consider one of the most important arguments of property tax relief: that it is antithetical to the spirit of homeownership. We should not have to keep paying perpetual rent to the government in order to keep our home!

The Florida Supreme Court has REJECTED the challenge to the state’s redistricting plan and new map. This assures that the recently enacted map will be in place for the 2026 election.
