If #iufb can win the Football national championship, then I think we should be able to cure #MultipleSclerosis or come up with better treatments for Mrs. Mendoza. My mom was diagnosed in 1982. My aunt in 1980. My aunt passed away from the disease. RT if you agree! #heisman2025 #FernandoMendoza @IU Bloomington @American Academy of Neurology

My dad passed away more than three years ago. The last few days he has been on my mind a lot. Grief never goes away, just sometimes it hides.

Happy birthday to MS Principal @TedOCschool. He has been my colleague for several years, the father of my son's bf, and most importantly, perhaps, my daughter's MS Principal. He is a passionate MS educator whose authentic enthusiasm for educating kids is evident every day he walks onto campus. Happy Birthday, Ted! @WBAISIsrael

Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is someone I’ve never met & will probably never meet. But after teaching her novel & essays for 12 years, & admiring her from afar, I wish I could ease her grief as she mourns the sudden death of one of her 21-month-old boys Nkanu Nnamdi. May Nkanu’s memory be for a blessing.

Be inspired today! Showed my Middle East History students Omar M. Yaghi's Nobel Prize speech. He grew up in a Palestinian Refugee Camp in Amman. Minute 45. youtube.com/watch?v=FPSKy9j_… He and Susumu Kitagawa & Richard Robson won the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry "for their groundbreaking work on the development of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs)."

Classroom teachers have to make 1000s of decisions a day. Some ppl are completely unaware of how many things a teacher has to remember to do on any given day, how many opportunities there are to get things right or wrong, how much stuff there is. It's hugely intense, requires complete commitment, hence why ppl get so tired. If you ain't done it, you won't know it.

I try not to argue with pro Israelis about facts and history. I do not think it is really important. What really important is there are 5 million Palestinians living here who need a solution, And all I care is that this solution will not come with bloodshed.

Can’t sleep. Heard about shootings at Brown University. As a high school teacher with a niece in college & high school, I worry about their safety & I live in the Middle East! Praying for the victims. What will be?

1/2 Has anyone played in a Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament? Today, I used that method (sort of) to divide about portions of a difficult text. First I split them in groups: lethargic. Then I tried co-centric circles. It was repetitive.

2/2 Next the co-centric circles joined together. I had the students present the other students' info. I said, if you can't, no worries, the other student has your back! The marriage of groups continued until the room became really loud! It was a symphony of learning! Opera? Lalapalooza?

Still celebrating @IndianaFootball @bigten win. Also learned the #Mendoza brothers’ mom has MS. My mom has and my aunt had MS. The young men are raising awareness around the disease. It’s been 50 yrs since my aunt’s diagnosis. I can’t believe there’s still no cure. @mssociety

To anyone and everyone who has ever argued this point with me - no need to thank me for my stubbornness. Your knowledge is my gratitude. :)

It's time to remove laptops from classrooms. 24 experiments: Students learn more and get better grades after taking notes by hand than typing. It's not just because they're less distracted—writing enables deeper processing and more images. The pen is mightier than the keyboard.

I urge you to read @davereaboi article on antisemitism. Perhaps we defined it incorrectly because we would have also needed to change our definitions of other historical prejudices held by our own communities. As hopefully those prejudices have waned, or our tolerance of them have, we can stand strong against them all. It's not about unity, it's about understanding that knowledge is important. Knowledge is power. And the lies are not perspectives. They are the words of liars, and they are dangerous.
