Here’s another of my fave photos from yesterday’s NH event! Took this of @POTUS when he was talking with NH ‘aviator crew’ @MackenzieM4NH, @rosemarierung and I after Dr. Laura Landerman-Garber had gifted him new patriotic shades! @nhpolitics
Good news: Youth activists in Montana fought for their futures—and won! Their landmark case was upheld by Montana's Supreme Court, agreeing that the state's energy policies violated their constitutional right to a clean environment. bbc.com/news/articles/c36ek0…
A global commitment to reducing #plasticpollution and production is a global commitment to reducing #breastcancer. That's according to a new analysis by Silent Spring that found 414 chemicals used in plastics that could increase breast cancer risk.

Don’t let your city council or school board fall for plastic turf manufacturer claims.
“Green” claims are not an assurance a product is PFAS-free.
Says who?
Says the SUPERFUND research program of an institute under the U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES.
“PFAS-free” doesn’t mean what most would assume.
Don’t let your elected officials jeopardize drinking water safety by falling prey to industry wordsmithing.
“Manufacturers who claim to make PFAS-free turf… are lying.”
“People are being hoodwinked.”

Thank you to all the MMK residents who waved, beeped, gave us a thumbs up, or stopped to say “hello” @ the transfer station today! Special thanks to the wonderfully thoughtful gentleman who gifted us bags full of baked goodies that kept us energized all day! The MMK cty. rocks!
While amounts like 1 part out of a million, billion or trillion might seem at first glance to be incredibly small and even insignificant, chemicals at these low levels can harm health. ewg.life/3MMZOC4
Artificial turf is one of the products that sheds PFAS.
If your city, county, or state hasn’t adopted regulations yet, contact your elected officials.
Artificial turf is plastic carpet, a product of the fossil fuel industry.
Stop trusting the industry to regulate itself.
"#PFAS in our water is undoubtedly a huge problem but many Americans don't realize that a major source of PFAS exposure is in the products we use - food packaging, clothing, carpets, furniture, personal care products & so much more" @StephanieWein@PennEnvironment#SenDemPolicy
Beautiful day to knock doors for @NHYoungDems Rebecca Boutin, @rosemarierun1, @WendyENThomas, @NancyMurphyNH, @shannonchandley & Democrats running up and down the ballot in Merrimack! One thing is for sure, Merrimack voters are fired up and ready to vote in November! #NHPolitics
New Sep 2024 research on health harms from exposure to plastic turf!
“Striking differences between weathered & non-weathered samples”!
Might explain why turf manufacturers are resistant to perform, & provide test results from, weathered samples. 😡
sciencedirect.com/science/ar… not sure who's left on Sci Twitter, but our paper on in vitro toxicity from artificial turf materials is out in ETAP! we found some striking differences between weathered and non-weathered samples, and hope to unveil in vivo and exposure angles soon :-)
