My dad described Raiders as the perfect big screen movie. He rarely saw the same movie twice in theaters, but in 1981 he saw Raiders 4 times. He loved the opening scene and the boulder in particular. When we finally got a big screen TV, it was the first movie we watched together.

My mom got such a kick out of seeing her 16 year old son get so excited after opening a mega-pack of batteries. I was like an old man with a new tool from the hardware store. Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that give the most joy! 🔋
