Last night a stranger called me a faggot before beating the shit out of me. He left me with a fractured eye socket, 2 fractures in my ankle, a dislocation in my ankle & some other minor injuries. We’ve come a long way but still have such a long way to go in terms of equality.

1. An NCHD has often been trained for up to 20 years.
2. We loose them in their droves.
3. They have phenomenal skill.
4. We should do a better of job of minding them to make them want to work here.

It’s a small indignity, but I remember when some Irish hospitals tried to deny some NCHDs the covid vaccine in January 2020 because it was close to changeover and they didn’t want to “waste” vaccine doses on their transient NCHD workforce. #StandingUp4NCHDs

Imagine you knew you were dying and yet couldn’t meet, talk, laugh, cry, with your family and loved ones. About a third of our 30k NH residents in Ireland die each year and many haven’t gotten to see their families, spouses, friends in many months- despite calling out for them!
