McDonald’s is testing a new AI drive-thru system called ArchIQ at 5 U.S. locations.
The system was introduced as part of McDonald’s new “McDonald’s Next” strategy, which is focused on modernizing restaurants and improving operations.
The AI can take drive-thru orders, speak with customers in English and Spanish, and help managers spot potential issues inside the restaurant.
According to reports, the system has already processed over 1 million transactions, with about 90% of orders completed without a human worker needing to step in.
