Always ensure the valve on your gas cylinder is tightened and safe , we don’t want stories that touch the heart

Did you know your gas cylinder has important information stamped on it? Those numbers and letters on your cylinder aren’t just there for decoration. They can tell you: - When the cylinder was manufactured. -Its test or inspection information. -Its specifications and capacity. And no, gas cylinders don’t last forever. 15 years from manufacture date and your. Cylinder needs to be changed ! Regular inspections and paying attention to your cylinder’s markings are part of using gas safely. Today, take a minute and check your cylinder. You might learn something new about it.

The smartest one? Probably the person who raises the alarm, keeps a safe distance if needed, and uses the right fire response for the situation. Not every fire should be tackled the same way, and personal safety should always come first. But the Nigerian in me will probably try 1 or 3 if it’s accessible then run for my dear life
Who is the smartest one?

This one amazes me, how does one see visible danger and then ignore? Cracks, tears, anything is not small , it infact is a big problem

Not every danger comes with smoke, fire, or loud warnings. Sometimes it’s a small leak. A faulty connection. A worn-out hose. Everything may look perfectly normal… until it isn’t. Awareness starts with paying attention to the things you can’t always see. The safest homes aren’t the lucky ones, they’re the ones that make safety checks a habit. 🔥 #GasSafety #SafetyAwareness #StaySafeNigeria #LPGSafety

Story time ooo because my neighbour sade wants to send me to an early grave. 😭 Remember the other day when she almost turned her kitchen (our house) into a science experiment because of gas safety wahala? Well, yesterday, Madam brought a man home. Me, I was minding my business. What’s my own? Only for me to look outside and see that oga drove a CNG car. Fine. No problem. Then this man brought out cigarette and started smoking beside the car. I said, “God, not again.” As if that wasn’t enough, when he wanted to put out the cigarette, he casually did it on the car and walked away like he was in a movie. 😭😭 At this point, I have concluded that Sade and everybody around her need compulsory gas safety lessons. The other day, it was the gas in her kitchen. Today, it’s the gas in her boyfriend’s car. Share, please. I just want to pay rent and live in peace. 😭😂 But on a serious note, whether it’s LPG at home or CNG in vehicles, safety habits matter. Smoking around fuel systems and using open flames carelessly is never a good idea. Small actions. Big consequences. Please don’t be Sade

A timely reminder that safety standards and proper siting of gas facilities are not just regulations on paper, they exist to protect lives and communities. Every incident reminds us why prevention, compliance, and regular safety checks should never be taken for granted. #GasSafety #SafetyReminder
The House of Representatives today called for stricter enforcement of regulations guiding the siting of gas filling stations and outlets following a recent explosion in Lagos.

Another Quick reminder 👀 Gas doesn’t care if it’s in a cylinder for cooking or in a vehicle for transportation. LPG and CNG both work best when safety habits come first. A small check today could prevent a big problem tomorrow. Inspect. Verify. #GasSafety #LPGSafety #CNGNigeria #StaySafeNiger

It depends on the situation, but the first priority is always your safety. If it is a small, manageable fire and it is safe to do so: • Turn off the gas supply at the cylinder or valve if you can reach it safely. • Use the appropriate fire extinguisher (such as a dry powder extinguisher). If the fire is spreading or you cannot safely reach the valve: • Evacuate immediately. • Keep others away from the area. • Call emergency services. Never put yourself at risk trying to fight a fire. The safest action is the one that protects lives first.
If a gas fire occurs, what method should be used to shut it off?

Friendly reminder: The safest homes aren’t the ones without gas. They are ones where people build simple safety habits. Before you cook today, take one minute to: ✔️ Check your cylinder. ✔️ Check your regulator. ✔️ Look out for anything unusual. Small habits can make a big difference. Stay aware. #GasSafety #SafetyReminder #CNGsafety #LPGSafety

It only takes 10 seconds Fear the problem, not the prevention. Before you light the stove: ✔️ Check for smell ✔️ Check the hose ✔️ Check the regulator Small check. Big difference. 🔥 #GasSafety #ExplosionPrevention

It’s a tough situation, and many households are definitely feeling the impact But as prices rise, one thing we shouldn’t do is cut corners on safety. (lol you thought I won’t go there??) Using damaged cylinders, expired regulators, substandard hoses, or delaying necessary replacements can create risks far more costly than the gas itself. Fear of high prices is understandable. Fear of preventable incidents should remind us to keep safety a priority. Stay safe, inspect your setup regularly, and don’t ignore warning signs.
It’s a shame but I am sorry to tell you that LPG is priced globally and has been affected by the Israel - Iran war. LPG prices have risen averagely by 53%. In Asia, it rose from $55 per ton to $135 per ton In USA, it rose from 8.6 cents per gallon to 44 cents per gallon In India, it rose from 29 rupees to 89 rupees. Unfortunately, Nigeria isn’t insulated from this global shock.
