Just this week we've seen reports of a man almost beheaded in the street, a school in Manchester forced to close after three people were stabbed by an alleged Somali suspect, and a 17-year-old girl stabbed in the neck by a Pakistani man. Every single day there are reports of stabbings, rapes, murders and violent attacks somewhere in Britain. Yet Starmer is patting himself on the back because he stopped an oil tanker in the English Channel. The average British family is not lying awake at night worrying about a Russian tanker - they're worrying about whether their children can walk to school safely, whether their daughters can get home safely after work, and whether the next knife attack will happen in their town. A government that cannot control its own borders, cannot remove foreign criminals, and cannot keep order on its own streets has no business boasting about protecting the nation from threats thousands of miles away.

I pay tribute to the brave Royal Marine Commandos who boarded a Russian shadow fleet oil tanker overnight in the English Channel. Russia’s illegal war in Ukraine is funded by their oil exports in defiance of sanctions. As Leader of the Opposition, I support the Government in standing with Ukraine.
