#Kivu: The AFC/M23 coalition has appointed a full set of local administrators for the areas it controls in
#SouthKivuProvince, including the city of
#Bukavu and several territories.
AFC/M23 leader
@CNangaa said the appointments were necessary because many of the areas had been without formally designated administrators for more than a year. It's effective on June 6.
Kyalangalilwa Mulondani Nicolas was appointed mayor of
#Bukavu, the provincial capital, with Nyota Luandja Celine serving as deputy mayor.
The coalition also appointed new leaders for the territories of
#Idjwi,
#Kabare and
#Kalehe, as well as the town of
#Minova, alongside their respective deputies.
New municipal administrators were named for
#Bagira,
#Ibanda and
#Kadutu, the three communes that make up
#Bukavu, while
#Panzi and
#Kasha were left without new appointments.
According to
#Nangaa, the move is intended to strengthen local governance and administration in areas controlled by AFC/M23 after more than a year without officially appointed local authorities.
