This cell is usually difficult to see because it is hidden within bone marrow spicules. But once in a while, it is out in the open. What is this cell?

Yes, this is a normal bone marrow mast cell! A bit elusive, but look closely within or near spicules, and you'll likely see one. Mast cells have some resemblance to basophils. Check out @KyleBradleyMD's excellent post on how to distinguish the two: x.com/KyleBradleyMD/status/1…
