I am deeply concerned by today’s ruling on wild camping at Dartmoor. As a child, I wild camped on Dartmoor when training for the Ten Tors expedition and for the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Without these experiences I would not have joined the Army or trained to be a Mountain Leader.

I love where I am now but the journey here was traumatic. Years of job insecurity and debt, toxic work environments & widespread bullying, made redundant during pandemic & forced to move cities with a small baby in tow. Academia must do better which is why I support #UCUStrike
