On tutorials Over 50% of Oxbridge tutorials are delivered by grad students, post-docs & freelancers, who work for low pay The real function of tutorials? Economic — it trickles some money down to those at the bottom of HE Brideshead is over, Aloysius
I'm reading about the history of the Oxbridge tutorial system and apparently they're meant to be as small as 1-3 students per tutor? I'm currently running something ostensibly called "tutorials" with 50 students per section.

Could it be that this is a very 'profitable' model for orthodox recruiters & "sourcing" companies - downplaying your value - so you use mass job boards/CV capture platforms (which our data shows is not a winning strategy to secure work)..? šŸ¤”šŸ¤Æ šŸ”— to data: minerva-recruitment.com/digi…

There's a lot of negative feelings and lack of confidence over CVs/expertise profile among our global community, due to the systemic issues and abuses in the labour market & poor education from institutions for #AltAc career development. This shows how valuable your CV really is!

The collapse of UK universities isn’t inevitable -- it’s a political choice Other countries manage; here, government is actively burning higher education to the ground We’re reaching the end of accessible, nationwide research & teaching — and those in power barely care

This is also why we intend on offering Trauma-informed consultancy to employers/institutions. This kind of thoughtless and callous behaviour is so easily preventable, and begins to look like systemic/structural violence (if not addressed appropriately).

Sounds very similar to my own experience at NTU connected with the murder of one of my best friends in the 1st year. Very traumatic & damaging. Also in Nottingham. HE truly has become soul-less. So sorry this happened to friends & family.
Grace O'Malley-Kumar's belongings were thrown out by Nottingham University after she was murdered by paranoid schizophrenic This isn't a failure of process -- it's a failure of humanity Universities must set clear standards of conduct & ethics to staff nottinghampost.com/news/nott…
