This morning, I spoke with @MIshaqDar50, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, who briefed me on the latest mediation efforts in the Middle East regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the essential agreement between the United States and Iran, and the timeline for its signature. I thanked Pakistan for its important mediation role and discussed the contribution of regional partners to de-escalation efforts, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Türkiye, and Egypt, as well as the continued engagement and support of the UN and the EU. We also reaffirmed the strong bilateral relationship between Romania and Pakistan and the spirit of dialogue that has characterized our contacts since our first conversation at the beginning of the Islamabad peace process. The official signing ceremony of the agreement is planned for June 19. The next phase will include further negotiations, including technical aspects related to the nuclear file, where Romania's role as Vice-Governor of the @iaeaorg is also relevant. Our shared objectives-helping reduce energy prices and ensuring timely access to agricultural fertilizers with a positive impact on global food markets-now have a realistic prospect thanks to the diplomatic efforts of the United States and all countries involved in the mediation process. Continued international coordination and engagement remain essential, as do regional stability and the deterrence of armed attacks. Romania is part of both the coalition coordinated by the U.S. Department of State to support diplomatic efforts for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the broader European coalition engaged in these efforts.

În această dimineață am avut o convorbire cu Mohammad Ishaq Dar, viceprim‑ministru și ministrul de externe al Pakistanului, în care m-a informat privind stadiul medierilor din Orientul Mijlociu privind redeschiderea Strâmtorii Hormuz, a acordului esențial între SUA și Iran și calendarul semnării acestuia. I-am mulțumit pentru rolul esențial de mediere al Pakistanului și am discutat despre aportul țărilor din regiune la dezescaladare - Arabia Saudită, Qatar, Turcia, Egipt - precum și despre dialogul constant și aportul ONU și al UE. Am evocat buna relație bilaterală dintre România și Pakistan și deschiderea constantă la dialog încă de la prima noastră convorbire, la începutul procesului de pace de la Islamabad. Ceremonia oficială de semnare a acordului este planificată pe 19 iunie, iar în etapele următoare urmează etapele viitoare ale negocierii, inclusiv aspecte tehnice privind dosarul nuclear, unde este relevant și rolul României de viceguvernator al AIEA @iaeaorg. Obiectivele comune - de a contribui la scăderea prețurilor la energie și de a asigura acces la timp la îngrășăminte agricole, cu impact asupra piețelor alimentare la nivel global - au acum o perspectivă realistă datorită eforturilor diplomatice ale SUA și ale țărilor implicate în procesul de mediere. Rămâne necesară coordonarea și implicarea internațională, precum și stabilitatea în regiune și descurajarea atacurilor armate. România este parte a coaliției coordonate de Departamentul de Stat al SUA pentru coordonarea efortului diplomatic de redeschidere a Strâmtorii Hormuz, precum și a coaliției europene.

Romania welcomes the agreement reached between the United States and Iran and commends the complex diplomatic efforts that contributed to this outcome. The US commitment, along mediation efforts and the support of regional partners was essential in producing a comprehensive agreement. It will take all sides to abide by the terms to foster long term de-escalation. This way the agreement may contribute to a more stable Middle East, and create the conditions for a comprehensive, verifiable and lasting resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue. The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz remains a key priority, and we look forward to the safe and timely resumption of maritime traffic and commercial shipping through this vital waterway. We remain committed to supporting efforts aimed at creating a stable environment in the Middle East in lockstep with our US and European partners.

Mǎ bucur să ofer Nadiei Comăneci cea mai înaltă distincție care a fost acordată de statul român unei personalități sportive, Ordinul Național „Steaua României” în grad de Mare Cruce, cu prilejul împlinirii a 50 de ani de la Jocurile Olimpice de la Montreal 1976, împreună cu recunoștința unei națiuni mândre de campioana sa. Într-o societate în care excelența riscă să își piardă din adevărata valoare și în care se caută satisfacții rapide, performanțele Nadiei Comăneci sunt cu adevărat excepționale, fiind un model de profesionalism, dedicare și perseverență inclusiv pentru generațiile actuale, arătând lumii întregi, și mai ales copiilor, că nu e suficient să ai talent și că, pentru a realiza ceva cu adevărat special, trebuie multă muncă. Felicitări, Nadia Comăneci, pentru că ați rămas o persoană vie, care promovează gimnastica și sportul, cu toate valorile care îi sunt asociate – muncă, fair play, lucru în echipă. Drona prǎbușitǎ joi noapte la Galați este Geran-2, de proveniențǎ ruseascǎ. Aceasta este concluzia fǎrǎ dubiu a raportului tehnic finalizat de specialiștii statului român. Ancheta a stabilit acest lucru pe baza unui ansamblu consistent de probe tehnice. Pe fragmentele recuperate a fost identificată inscripția în caractere chirilice „ГЕРАН-2”, iar componentele electronice, sistemele de navigație, modulele de comandă, motorul și elementele constructive analizate prezintă similitudini până la identitate cu cele ale altor drone Geran-2 recuperate anterior pe teritoriul României și identificate cu certitudine ca fiind fabricate în Federația Rusă. Raportul arată, de asemenea, că marcajele de fabricație, inscripțiile tehnice, caracteristicile constructive și materialele utilizate urmează același proces tehnologic întâlnit la dronele Geran-2 analizate în ultimii ani. Analizele fizico-chimice au confirmat prezența acelorași tipuri de materiale și combustibili identificați în mod repetat la aparate din această serie. Pe baza tuturor acestor elemente, ancheta concluzionează fără echivoc că fragmentele recuperate la Galați provin de la o dronă Geran-2 de proveniență rusească. Faptul că un astfel de aparat a lovit un bloc de locuințe din România, provocând răniți și pagube materiale, este de o gravitate deosebită, iar singurul responsabil este Rusia. Siguranța cetățenilor români și integritatea teritoriului național sunt obligații fundamentale ale statului român și vor fi apărate cu toată fermitatea. Rezultatele acestei anchete vor fi comunicate aliaților noștri și structurilor competente din cadrul NATO și al Uniunii Europene. România va continua să acționeze împreună cu partenerii săi pentru consolidarea securității la frontiera estică a Alianței și pentru protejarea cetățenilor săi. România nu va ignora și nu va minimaliza niciun incident care pune în pericol viața cetățenilor săi, securitatea națională sau suveranitatea statului român.

It caused a powerful explosion and fire on the 10th floor 🔥. Over 100 innocent civilian residents were evacuated. There were 4 victims: 2 with injuries hospitalized and 2 treated for panic attacks on site . Russia doesn’t care about human lives - whether in Ukraine, Romania, or even in their own country.
