Druze leader Walid #Jumblatt to Al-Jazeera: There are Lebanese in Washington who are “more Israeli than the Israelis” & some in #Lebanon who don’t consider the south part of the country. Says “we are facing a new map surrounding Israel, but none of us know where its borders are”

.@TreyYingst: President Trump says he is getting close to ordering new strikes against Iranian power plants and bridges because "the Iranians are tapping the United States along."
NEW: President Trump tells me he "may keep going" with strikes against Iran and is getting closer to targeting Iranian power plants and bridges. The President also spoke about the U.S. military helicopter that was downed saying that an Iranian drone lodged between the two pilots. The drone was on fire, but didn't explode, according to President Trump.

This is the Israeli military justification for attacking a Lebanese army patrol inside Leb territory - ‘the area is an active combat zone, and movement in the area requires coordination with the IDF’ The Israeli military is demanding Leb troops asks its permission to move around its own country 🧵

Seconding this and adding that at the moment, even many of the families of Hezbollah fighters don’t know where they are and are not in communication with them. These guys take their security very seriously, especially comms, voice recordings etc #Lebanon
Just a friendly reminder that there is a “fixer” in Lebanon who scams foreign correspondents into paying him money to set up interviews with fake Hezbollah commanders and fighters. Most journalists see right through this. The ones who don’t end up producing “exclusives” with very obviously fake Hezbollah soldiers. We all laugh at it. Hezbollah officials are not impossible to interview. They have a media office for exactly that purpose, for setting up interviews. Major media outlets have interviewed them, I have interviewed them. But fighters and commanders are almost impossible because they take their security very seriously, as any military organization during a war would be expected to. So, be very skeptical of the “exclusives” with those masked fighters who dish all of Hezbollah’s plans to western correspondents who parachute in 😂

Weird how so many who pretend to care about human rights never share any of these confessions which have been around for 2 years
"I took my rocket launcher and ordered the soldiers to bombard a building where a Palestinian family lived, I ordered them to burn them all alive. When we bombed them, I looked at my friend and told him it was very fun to hear them scream while they burned alive." Yarden Megira, Zionist soldier, war criminal, and professional psychopath, confesses that he burned a Palestinian family alive and then stayed to listen as they screamed in pain while they burned.

In this article Narges Bajoghli and I argue that the war has brought about a generational change in Iran’s leadership, bringing to the fore men with different experiences and outlook on state, society and foreign policy. This new generation is now confident that it ways has won significant strategic wins which it intends to translate not only into a new regional order but also a new domestic order and social contract with the population. The scale of the war and it took for Iran to survive it and fore the U.S. into a stalemate has also changed Iranian society in profound way. Social grievances remain but will express themselves in this new context. We explain why pre-war ways of understanding Iran don't explain it anymore. “The emergent Islamic Republic will remain highly authoritarian. But the categories that Western analysts have often used to describe the Islamic Republic’s various factions—hard-liner versus moderates, ideologues versus reformists—will be less accurate than ever. The new Islamic Republic’s priorities, and how it pursues them, will be shaped by the specific experiences of its two wars with the United States and Israel: the losses Iran sustained, the confidence its leadership gained, and the new social contract the fighting has made necessary and possible.” foreignaffairs.com/iran/iran…

Gaza is still bleeding
In this video is my cousin’s son, Abdulrahman, after an Israeli strike targeted children celebrating Eid at Gaza’s port. Abdulrahman is the last surviving child of his father, Yahya. His brothers, Hamada & Naji, were killed months ago while seeking food and rescuing the wounded.

There aren't many options. Haidar, displaced from the southern village of Blat near the border, told me in resignation that he and his family will remain in Dahieh for now: “We can’t leave. There are no houses [for rent], and we don’t have money. There's nowhere to go. It’s fine. Whatever happens happens.” But most people are fleeing the suburb. Many of them are being displaced for a third and fourth time.

‘A site it hasn’t held for 26 years’ - as if it is Israel’s to ‘hold.’ Israel's military presence in #Lebanon is an invasion, its holding of territory is an occupation. Call things by their name
US media outlets are eager to butcher the English language — along with common sense and human decency — to avoid stating a basic fact: Israel is expanding its occupation of southern Lebanon

A well-informed source told me that Trump’s Truth Social post about lifting the blockade was, in fact, the first condition before moving to the next steps of the understanding. According to the source, the Iranian side insisted on a formal public announcement first. Trump appears to have framed it as a secondary issue, while Tehran sees it as a key confidence-building measure before entering the more sensitive files. So far, there has been no direct discussion of the nuclear file itself. The process is expected to move gradually through an MOU, where every step will be matched by a reciprocal step. The same sources say a ceasefire announcement between Hezbollah and Israel is also expected as part of the broader framework currently taking shape.
