I am “Vote No” on the regional transit measure presently. It’s too much money flowing out of San Mateo County and not enough accountability. I hope the issue gets resolved, but I wont support San Mateo County taxpayers getting a bad deal. @JackieSpeier @DianePapan @JoshBeckerSV

ALT A Tsunami Advisory remains in effect for the California coast, including all coastal regions in the Bay Area and Central Coast, due to an 8.8 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Kamchatka. Remember that a tsunami is a series of waves carrying a large mass of water. This will NOT be a single wave, and the first wave might not be the largest. Even if wave heights are low, dangerous and powerful currents are possible in the ocean and at the beach. Stay away from the water! Stay away from beaches and waterways! Remain away from shore until local officials say that it is OK to return. Do NOT try to go to the coast to take photos! You will not just put yourself at risk, you will put the people who have to rescue you at risk. Estimated time of arrival is 12:15 AM on July 30 at Monterey and 12:40 AM on July 30 at San Francisco.

Republic @Teamsters' jobs are essential for the public and public health. The jobs can also be dangerous.
They deserve a fair contract. And Republic can end these strikes by coming to the table with one.
It’s time they did.

More than 2,000 Teamsters at Republic Services are currently on strike or actively honoring picket lines nationwide.
Trash is going uncollected for millions. And more is to come until Republic Services offers its workers fair contracts.
