State-local alignment is going to be critical if we're to make the most out of this moment and build back a stronger, more cohesive, sustainable and resilient society. So thrilled @CitiesCatalyst can play a role in this great initiative with #California communities and @Cal_OPR
Have you heard about the California Resilience Partnership (CRP) yet? CRP is a new model led by @CitiesCatalyst in coordination with @Cal_OPR that aims to advance high-impact #climate #resilience projects in regions across California. šŸ’Ŗ rcc.city/california

This is incredibly disappointing to hear - and incredibly inequitable. The data shows our most vulnerable community members typically have longer working commutes given the large scale housing crisis. Putting the harm on the individual and not on investing in transit is BAD

via @NYTimes as devastating as Isaias was for many, it was less damaging than it may have been. We’re just at the beginning of hurricane season in the US—let’s all prepare for what still may come. rcc.city/s/RCC-waves-yet-to-… nytimes.com/2020/08/06/clima…

Millions of Americans woke up this morning in homes now (correctly) mapped to greater flood risk. FEMA’s maps were always a cobbled, political mess, @FirstStreetFdn takes a crack at fixing. Great work! nytimes.com/interactive/2020…

Does this mean Amazon is getting rid of the delivery trucks on every corner, every day? No more wasteful boxing and packaging? No more inhumane conditions at warehouses? No more marketing to fossil fuel companies? Because that would be a Climate Plegde! seattletimes.com/sports/hock…
Important book that can’t come out too soon
Excited (and slightly terrified) to announce that I just agreed to write a book about the social and political life of the #CoronavirusPandemic, based on a massive global research project at @nyu_ipk. It's tentatively titled *2020: A Social Autopsy,* to be published by @AAKnopf.

Climate catastrophe may not start in your community with a major storm—it could be widespread rejections of loans for homes, or the rapid depreciation whole neighborhoods.
