Need the @dieworkwear take on the beautiful costume design throughout Ripley. Really had me referring back to his "clothing is a language" adage constantly.
Visually Ripley is one of the best series Netflix has ever done. The use of black and white was like a homage to the classic film noir of 40s/50s. The whole series filmed in Italy, is like a living work of art, and is a masterclass in cinematography. #Ripley

Hey @CMChiOsse @CMCrystalHudson a person was just hit by a driver at Quincy and Classon, a dangerous intersection that badly needs a traffic solution. Fortunately, FDNY was arriving as I left and the victim appeared conscious and responsive.

On a busy weekday morning, could just as easily been a child on a scooter or a parent with a stroller or one of the many cyclists who use Classon Ave on their commute. Please urge @NYC_DOT to reevaluate this dangerous intersection.

as expected, the court has inverted the 14th. an amendment written explicitly to directly ameliorate the conditions of race hierarchy becomes in conservative hands an amendment that says it’s illegal to try to directly ameliorate the conditions of race hierarchy
The Supreme Court has ruled on affirmative action. Per Amy Howe of @SCOTUSblog, "The court holds that Harvard and UNC's admissions programs violate the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment."

some days it feels like every other car in NYC has an illegal license plate protector, a plate defaced beyond recognition, or an expired temporary tag, and absolutely nobody capable of conducting enforcement even cares.

definitely not going to forget the folks who touted this shambolic, deeply incompetent mess of a mayor as the future of the democratic party because he was vaguely “anti-woke” bloomberg.com/news/features/…

what I cannot understand is *who* is the constituency for this? at one point, 90% of the NYC's 4-year-olds were enrolled in free pre-K. the adams administration has so little imagination, the only solution they can think of for public safety is more cops.

I can’t stop thinking about Adam and his family and loved ones. We live just blocks from where he was killed and I’ve seen him ride down the street with his cargo bike. What a loss.
The 13th cyclist of the year has been killed, this time on dangerous Franklin Avenue in Brooklyn. Adam Uster was a supporter of @transalt and other safe streets groups. His loss is the entire city's loss. nyc.streetsblog.org/2023/05/…

see, one thing could help prevent mass slaughter and the other thing makes conservatives feel sad, so they’re very much the same thing

New from @verainstitute: Incredible interactive data and storytelling on the prevalence of mass incarceration in every corner of Louisiana
Replying to @verainstitute
Louisiana Locked Up reveals that #MassIncarceration is not confined to one corner of Louisiana but reverberates across the state. In fact, LA has the highest pretrial incarceration rate in the nation, jailing people at a rate twice the national average. vera.org/louisiana-locked-up…

For @wsj to say flat out that SVB could have failed because they added non-white men to their board shows how far behind the times (and certifiably stupid) this publication really is. It makes me so angry and very sad. WSJ readers and staff deserve better.

Only a couple of months into the year and my Spotify wrapped is not going to recover from the amount of Frozen and My Little Pony it’s seen. It’s game over.
