Back at it at ParkRun - surely this is a battle we are close to winning now
Great start to the weekend, having fun & saying no to unfairness for females in Parkrun. Great course at Urmston mostly on grass, thank you to all the marshalls. Spoke to one woman who agreed that woman & girls care about our times. No males in a female category. #SaveWomensSport #FairnessforFemales #LoveParkrun #HateUnfairness @WomensRightsNet @Caterin00138072 @mara_yamauchi @HallisseyC @CarlBontoft

This is so depressing - we are going backwards under Starmer’s government - back to not knowing what a woman is, back into Europe, back to a time before North Sea oil and the jobs it creates. We need to change gears!
Another Starmerite masterstroke.

Absolutely right this. Re-opening the Brexit debate will be a massive vote loser for Labour. Sadly that's why the already existing Labour Government is taking us back in by stealth: reset = rejoin. We need people like @Jonathan_Hinder to also call this out
"The idea that we can reconnect with our working class base by reopening this [Brexit] debate is just a staggering level of out of touch." Labour MP Jonathan Hinder says there is 'no way' he would back a leadership candidate who wants to rejoin the EU.

Great to be part of the @WRN_Manchester team supporting Lorna today
Day 2 Wed 13 at Lorna Young's employment tribunal against @ManCityCouncil - she is an ex EDI team lead claiming unfair dismissal on the grounds of religion or belief. She is a Catholic, holds gender critical beliefs - the report on Sex and gender she was asked to do was scrapped and Sharmila Kar the new Director of EDI was very clear gender critical beliefs should not be mentioned @ManchesterEven @ManchesterMill @tribunaltweets @WomensRightsNet @SexMattersOrg

Spent the afternoon at Employment Tribunal in Mcr. Clear that the work done by @WRN_Manchester to force Manchester City Council to follow legal requirements is essential. You can’t hound out women with gender critical views and you must respect the Supreme Court judgement that sex means biological sex
WRN Members from Manchester & across the NW here with Jo Pheonix supporting the heroic Lorna Young ex EDI Team Manager at @ManCityCouncil in her Employment Tribunal against MCC for unfair dismissal on the grounds of religion & belief. Follow @tribunaltweets @WomensRightsNet

One of the highlights of our Battle of Ideas North: @richardmarcj on sovereignty and why it matters.
Before Starmer announces plans to hand over British sovereignty to the EU, listen to this fascinating speech by @richardmarcj explaining why British left needs to rediscover the sovereignty it revered in the 20th century. "Sovereignty, far from being something exercised by Edwardian gunboats, is the real power of the people to control their destiny" - Neil Kinnock @ #Battlefest North "Iran, Greenland, Brexit Britain… does sovereignty still matter?"🇬🇧👇

Why does nothing seem to work anymore? On the local election trail in Sale Central, I suggest it's because councillors and council staff are playing out of position. (Added commentary from Friday the dog)

“Britain is now effete, irrelevant and defanged. It is a flotsam on rough international seas, bullied by some, ridiculed by others and ignored by all who have not yet emasculated themselves.” Thoughtful and thought provoking piece - beautifully written conservativewoman.co.uk/only…

Always good to have an unexpected endorsement - thank you @redstarwales
Replying to @RedActuary
Good luck, Hilary. You’re up against four Tories and an emissary of the madcap Greens. Voting for you will be the most sensible choice in Sale.

On the local election campaign train in Sale Central - lets bring back town hall meetings! Be great if councillors consulted the public face to face rather than using online tick box exercises

Great to be at @ScottishTUC expressing @SDPhq support for @unitetheunion campaign to Keep the North Sea Working campaign. Response from one member “I appreciate your support and will be telling my members also”.

We need affordable, reliable energy and North Sea oil and gas has to be part of the solution. On my way to @ScottishTUC in Dundee to support @unitetheunion workers’ campaign. Agree that Government must assert itself over the courts on this.
So frustrating listening to @Ed_Miliband this morning on the Today programme this morning. Says he can't make a decision on North Sea oil & gas because of environmental impact assessments done at arms length & fear of unfavourable judicial review down the line. Law over politics
