Great piece, with striking figures. In states that raised minimum wages, pay has gone up -- but there has been no effect on the number of jobs.
We've been running an unprecedented natural experiment running for a decade and half. 30 states have raised their minimum wages. 20 have not. What happened to pay? What happened to jobs? The good news is that it's pretty easy to figure out now. Link next post.

March 2026 was *by far* the hottest in New Mexico's recorded history - 4.4º warmer than the previous record. The statewide average March temperature has never been above 51.2º and this year was 55.6º. It also tied for the 2nd driest March on record. #NMwx

I say this every year, but I’m starting to think the Cleveland Browns aren’t going to win this.

One year (and 191 counties) later, I’m up to 2,028 counties visited - only 1,116 left!
I just turned 40 recently, so I decided I’m going to try and visit every county (and equivalent) in the US by the time I turn 50. So far it’s 1,837 down, 1,307 to go. Biggest metro area I’ve never seen? Birmingham, AL (#47) Largest city I’ve never been to? Fort Wayne, IN (#83)

NEW from me: The tariffs imposed on Mexico, Canada, and China today represent the largest trade restriction in modern US history, with the potential to cause massive economic harm. This is Trump's blockade of America apricitas.io/p/trumps-blocka…
