HE TOLD THE WORLD ISRAEL HAD NUKES Mordechai Vanunu worked as a technician at Israel top-secret nuclear facility in Dimona for eight years. In 1986 he walked into the offices of The Sunday Times (@thetimes) in London and handed over photographs he had secretly taken inside the plant. He told them Israel had somewhere between 100 and 200 nuclear warheads. The experts verified every word. The Sunday Times published the story on 5 October 1986. It was one of the most significant nuclear revelations in history. Israel response was not a press release. It was a Mossad operation. A female agent posing as an American tourist named Cindy started a relationship with Vanunu in London. She invited him on a romantic holiday. He flew to Rome on British Airways flight 504. That was the last time he stood on free soil for 18 years. He was drugged, bound, and secretly shipped back to Israel on a cargo vessel. His trial was held in total secrecy. He was sentenced to 18 years for treason and espionage, 11 of which he spent in solitary confinement in a cell roughly the size of a parking space. The kidnapping happened on British soil, or close to it. The Sunday Times had brought him to London. Mossad tracked him there. UK intelligence knew. Margaret Thatcher's government was briefed. Nobody did a thing. When he was finally released in 2004, Israel banned him from leaving the country, banned him from speaking to foreign journalists, and arrested him multiple times for doing exactly that. In 2007 he was jailed again for speaking to foreigners. Amnesty International declared him a prisoner of conscience. American whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg called him "the preeminent hero of the nuclear era." The country that kidnapped him on European soil faced no consequences. The country that published his story moved on. And Israel's nuclear arsenal, still unacknowledged, still unsupervised by the international community, remains one of the worst-kept secrets in geopolitics. Looking forward to the usual every team but Arsenal style of commentary. No wonder we are going to hear lots of Palmer praising notwithstanding the Arsenal talent on the field.

Finally, the United States is waking up 🚨 Representative Ted Lieu just drew a crystal clear red line, and it matters more than most people seem to realize. “If any military member, from the generals on down, participates in using force against Greenland without congressional authorization, they are following illegal orders.” That is not rhetoric. That is the law. And he is putting everyone on notice. This is how a constitutional system is supposed to work. Civilian control. Congressional authority. No freelance militarism because a president feels impulsive or humiliated or bored. Orders that violate the Constitution are not orders. They are illegal commands, and obedience is not a defense. What I like here is the timing. This is not said after the damage is done. It is a preemptive warning. A flare shot into the sky saying: think very carefully before you cross this line. For years, too many people in Washington treated norms as vibes and laws as suggestions. This is a reminder that the system still has teeth if people are willing to use them. And that responsibility does not magically disappear when you put on a uniform. More of this please. Clear boundaries. Plain language. Zero ambiguity. That is how you stop bad ideas before they turn into irreversible disasters.

This is shocking. And no, since this is a Jersey case, the cab rank principle doesn’t apply. It is surely a direct conflict of interest. I presume he asked @KemiBadenoch permission before being engaged or appointed?
The Tories’ Shadow Attorney General, Lord Wolfson, is representing Roman Abramovich in a legal case that is delaying the transfer of £2.5bn of assets to benefit the people of Ukraine. I’ve written to @KemiBadenoch about the conflicts of interest this raises. 👇

Very good point. I hope this post has the effect it intended.
The lady at the charity shop today told me that she wishes people would clear out their children's old toys in the lead up to Christmas rather than after because she always sees a number of parents in the days before Christmas looking for toys for their little ones who might be strapped for cash. She said there's very rarely anything in just before, but that they get inundated with toys in the days after. And it really made me think about it in a way I never would have before. If you know your child is going to get lots of presents from Father Christmas this year, by clearing out your cupboards a few days early, you could make another child's Christmas a lot more special too. Saw this & thought I'd repost.

I bet the media wouldn’t just ignore a Labour politician being on trial for taking Russian bribes. We know it. They’d be screaming traitor on every front page. Why are they ignoring Nathan Gill especially when there are long standing questions about Farage‘s Russian links?

Trump at the table, a pompous buffoon, Quoting great names like a clumsy cartoon. Shakespeare would cast him as clown in the square, Tolkien a goblin with orange-dyed hair. Orwell would spot him as Big Brother’s twin, Watching and lying with smirk and a grin. A villain from all of their pages combined, A fraud in the flesh, not a master of mind.

This is Melissa Hortman, on June 14, 2025 she & her husband John were murdered in a politically motived attack. She stood for environment rights, abortion rights & sensible gun control policies. No lowered flags! Can we take a moment to remember her good works. Please RT.

Britain is not a country of racist bigots. Time for the decent majority to "take back control". Retweet if you agree.

Pope Francis's funeral. A humble man who tried to lead by example. Yet all the media is interested in is iconoclastic Trump, Prince William's suit and other such superficiality. Pope Francis should have stated that no dignitaries were to attend his funeral. What a circus!

Some clever people created a tool #ChatGPT wich in turn will make everyone dumb. As one of the last group of people who still thinks and know how to do things without google & chatgpt, spend half of my day deflecting things created by colleagues who only know how to use Chatgpt

80% of the posts in my timeline are about the U.S. or Trump or Elon Musk's expressive "Wows" . What is the point of freedom of speech if we only see one flavour of it. X is becoming so tedious.

We just came out of the most crooked government ever and are going to appoint Arthur Daley as Mayor of London? I don't think so! Fortunately the people who vote for the mayor of London are Londoners , not hillbillies donning MEGA caps.

Today something amazing happened . During the debate in Parliament, for the Terminally Ill Adults Bill, members from all parties put forward for and against arguments in a thoughtful, intelligent and respectful manner. Why can't they solve the country's problems in the same way.

Please retweet, will @UKLabour @Keir_Starmer act to protect British pets, halt breeding and stop the sales of pets as if they are products? #UK Abandoned, stray dogs are being killed in council pounds after just 7 days because rescue shelters are full. I believe this is due to the prolific licensed and unlicensed breeding we have in the UK, the sales of dogs on pet selling sites and social media where people can too easily buy pets without proper research and commitment. I see a lot about the suffering of dogs abroad and of course we should do all we can to stop the suffering of animals wherever they are in the world, but still largely the British public are unaware of the extent of the abuse and abandonment of dogs in the UK. We saw the previous government swiftly introduce new laws against XL Bullies but the people that bred and used that breed incorrectly are now using other breeds. Since the maximum sentence for animal cruelty was raised from 6 months to 5 years, even in the most horrific of cases, rarely are custodial sentences given. @APDAWG1 @RSPCA_official @DefraGovUK @TheKennelClubUK @Gumtree @BritishVets @domdyer70 @PeterEgan6 @rickygervais @HopeRescue @gsrescueelite @MissingPetsGB @DogLost_UK @BBCNews @GMB @susannareid100 @ranvir01 @BBCBreakfast @SkyNews @Channel4News @lorraine @EamonnHolmes @andreajenkyns @RosieDuffield1 @Battersea_ @LurcherSOS @ConservativeAWF @AngelaRayner @LibDems @DrBrianMay @liamgallagher @clarebalding @marcthevet #dogs #dog #cats #pets @CatsProtection @pursuitofprog @SaintsSledDogs @8BelowHuskyResc Below, dog found in #Radlett #StAlbans #Hertfordshire now in a council pound for 7 days, not available for adoption, rescue space needed lostdogsuk.co.uk/lost-dogs/

The onslaught of Labour since day1 has been many times greater that the slow anger that kicked the Tories out.Not because of what Lab do but because there are powerful people involved.Every day people defect those attacks with information but still they come in unstoppable waves
