Oh, NOW we question their tactics! Since Feb., 6k Utahns in SD15 have been bullied, harassed and manipulated solely based on their political opinion. The time to investigate the signature removal scam was weeks ago, not AFTER the deceit was complete. This week may have been a step back in Utah’s fight to defend representative government, but we aren’t going anywhere.
THIS SUNDAY: On Inside Utah Politics, @BBforUT Executive Director Elizabeth Rassmusen on the repeal of Prop. 4 failing to qualify for the November ballot. She defends their signature repeal tactics after the GOP-backed @UtahGOP chair said they had "significant concerns" with their practices. FULL STORY: abc4.com/news/politics/insid…

“STAMP-GATE” = the act of a duly elected legislative body clarifying existing state law when faced with a “gray-area.” AKA, a manufactured media fabrication. Apparently, none of the other 538 laws that passed were worth discussing! Tune in to ABC4 Sunday for more Stamp-gate!
🚨NEW EPISODE: The '26 Utah legislature overshadowed by last minute changes to prepaid postage for signature removals on initiatives and a bill passing after midnight. Plus, Congressional candidates line up under new maps. @taylordmorgan, @LeahMurray828 👇 youtu.be/fd5Iv2lczlA?si=soa8…

💪💪💪 We will not cease in our effort to Repeal Prop 4, no matter the day of the week or the time of night!

I have reported on the allegations of fraud you are making against them. And bills take coordinating to be subbed, passed after 11 pm, pass concurrence, enrolled, and be signed by the governor the next morning. This was not an accident, you know this. share.google/46awNz4jGAQW3I0…

You caught us…supporting a provision that was public for a week which clarifies existing law. If a Democrat judge can toss Utah’s congressional maps at 11:40p before the midnight deadline, a Republican legislative majority can confirm existing statute at 11:19p.
Question to the good Senator from Woods Cross. Why did it move so late? Was it just a function of when that bill came up? Did it take time to whip the votes? Why were backers of @RepealProp4 on the hill whipping votes that night?

⬇️ These deceptive practices are now ILLEGAL. Thank you, @utahhousereps, @utahsenate and @GovCox. For the last month, lawmakers heard from constituents concerned about the practices of Better Boundaries. Even Rep. Blake Moore, an original founder of B.B., urged that the campaign to remove signatures end. As of TODAY, there will be no postage provided to initiative signers to trick them into removing their signature. The law did not change the amount of time a person has to remove their signature, and any removals already requested will be processed. Utahns want a vote to Repeal Prop 4, and they have earned that opportunity this November.

We are devastated to lose Rep. Owens as a representative for our great State. An ultimate team player, @BurgessOwens found every opportunity to support the Repeal of Prop 4. We know he will continue to do so until Nov 3. Congratulations on a terrific career. Utah thanks you!

😍 We would love to see today’s update, @LindsayOnAir!
🚨PROP 4 REPEAL UPDATE: The @RepealProp4 effort now has a healthier lead in President @JStuartAdams and @gopTODD districts. The question will be whether removals have been processed in Davis County. I don't have that info. Stevenson (SD6) 241 Weiler (SD8) 346 Adams (SD7) 376

Since it takes a few days for information to get to Facebook, would someone give our friend Daryl today’s update? 💔 RIP Prop 4!

The one closest to the bubble is now SD12, but that one has a 545-signature cushion. So this repeal initiative looks like it is going to be on the ballot. Prepare for the millions of dollars in advertising to start soon.

Better Boundaries continues to harass Utahns against their will despite Congressman Moore telling them to knock it off. They know they cannot stop us at the ballot box. Glad to be with 160,659 standing on the side of democracy, the Constitution and representative government!
Pretty damn annoyed that I have these scum bags contacting me and trying to manipulate what I purposely, knowingly, went out of my way to sign. Of course they didn’t just say “if you would like to remove your name from prop 4 we will aid you”, they instead try and manipulate with wording about stopping gerrymandering. How is this fair or legal? If they wanted to campaign against prop 4 repeal they should have been forced to do so in the same time frame as the organizers. Why do they get extra time to attempt to dissuade confirmed signers when organizers can’t try to still dissuade holdouts?? FYI they immediately called me after I told them to fuck off. Prior to the text response they sent. @BasedMikeLee @Manhattva @RepealProp4

Will Better Boundaries follow their founder’s directive and stop subverting the will of 160,000 Utahns who signed to place the Repeal Prop 4 initiative on the ballot? ⏰It’s been 18 hours and the silence is deafening!
Cease & Desist, @BBforUT! Congressman Blake Moore encourages Better Boundaries to QUIT interfering with the Repeal Prop 4 campaign. STOP your misleading tactics, phony allegations and undemocratic efforts. Utahns deserve and have earned a vote, just as you were granted in 2018. Thank you, Congressman!

In 2018, I proudly supported Utah’s Better Boundaries Initiative as a Republican co-chair. At the time, I believed — and still believe — that improving transparency in redistricting is a worthy goal. The proposal created standards and an independent commission to recommend maps while preserving the Legislature’s constitutional authority to make final decisions. That balance mattered. This is a simple issue for me: blue states and red states should follow redistricting standards. I supported that then and I support it now. The effort in our state was about strengthening the process — not about guaranteeing a particular mapping outcome. I also strongly oppose the idea that a judge could select congressional maps from proposals submitted by unelected plaintiffs. When that happens, accountability disappears. Judges are not elected to draw political boundaries. Plaintiffs are not accountable to voters. And if a court selects a map, citizens lose their ability to redress grievances through their elected representatives. In the case last fall, I believe the judge should have continually returned the map-drawing responsibility back to the legislature, to maintain constitutionality. That’s why I have argued that the constitutional authority of the legislature to amend ballot initiatives is vital. We can’t have super laws. I continue to strongly support a constitutional amendment, that will likely be on the November ballot, to correct the Utah Supreme Court’s July 2024 decision. This would give us clarity not just for this legal battle, but for future propositions. Utah should not turn into Oregon where ballot initiatives have overrun good policymaking and increased financial burdens. President Ronald Reagan supported the concept of independent commissions because they encouraged fairness and competition. But they were never intended to bind legislatures or override them. Commissions were meant to enhance good governance, not displace it. Fast forward to today. Utahns have once again engaged in the initiative process and It looks like they’ve gathered enough signatures to reconsider Proposition 4. Whether one supports repeal or opposes it, the right response is the same: trust the people. In 2018, Better Boundaries believed Utahns deserved a vote on this issue. Today, they and other groups are attempting to reverse participation by encouraging signature removals from the petition. They’ve gone from trusting the process to fighting for a partisan outcome. I especially condemn any misleading efforts from any group on this issue. As a former co-chair of Better Boundaries, I call on them and their partners to stop trying to undo the petition to reconsider Proposition 4 by attempting to remove signatures. We should let Utahns decide.

Congressman Blake Moore, who helped lead the original Better Boundaries & Proposition 4, says Utahns should be allowed to decide the future of the law at the ballot box.

Utah, we are officially one step closer to TOTAL REPEAL OF PROP 4. We’ve officially exceeded the required number of verified statewide signatures, with nearly 150,000 Utahns signing to erase this unconstitutional law. We have 6 more Senate Districts to go, with plenty of packets left to count. This would not have happened without amazing volunteers across the state. Please help us share the good news, and thank all of those that signed!!

You heard it here first! 140,662 signatures have been validated - leaving us just 86 signatures shy of reaching the statewide number. We are now qualified in 1️⃣4️⃣ unique Senate Districts. More than 1,000 packets still left to count. Another update tomorrow!
