What is really repugnant about Osborne & subsequent Chancellors’ is how they love to bask in the glory of providing “Tax Reliefs” for GoT & British TV/Film & then introduces #RetrospectiveTax ala #LoanCharge to grab it back upto 20 years later & then labels us filthy tax dodgers!

In attacking the Mini Budget, @MelJStride sides with the failed Treasury Orthodoxy.
Stride is a creature of the system.
When he served alongside me as Treasury Minister, he always went along with officials - including on the Loan Charge and IR35, damaging the self-employed and SMEs.
He backed Sunak's huge spending, but not my tax cuts which were smaller in size and would have increased growth.
Britain's system of government is broken.
Nothing will change with people like him in charge.

I went through all the budgets since 1997 when Gordon Brown became Chancellor & beat the Cool Britannia drum. Most of them gloated about British Film industry. Including most recently Jeremy Hunt in his first budget (using almost identical wording to Gordon Brown). IMMORAL!

4/5 over to new liquidator and didn’t tell or invite me to the creditor’s meeting for the “decision notice”. In over 7 years never had accurate settlement figures. In last 6 months they changed and “ranged” from £150k to £350k incl fees. Oh and Trust wants £25k in fees or will

5/5 recall loan of £225k. The same one HMRC want & even if I paid trust back HMRC want the monies statutory interest going back 7 years. This isn’t just 100% back - it’s many 💯of % back. To all those #LoanChargeVictims I wish you well at Xmas & and end to this misery in ‘24!
