The Irish statement bears special moral weight.
Scenes such as those witnessed today are not rare in these parts - except that the victims of the abuse and humiliation are almost invariably Palestinian.
Most of those "outraged" today are silent when it's the Palestinians.
Ireland is one of a handful of countries consistently challenging human rights abuses, 24/7, when others find silence to be the path of least resistance.

The Testimony of Taliesin Jones was launched @Dauntbooks It's had a quiet but steady life and remains in print thanks to @PenguinUKBooks . The book won a few prizes, received some nice notices and was made into a decent film starring Jonathan Pryce. Tidy.
