At this point between proscriptions, insane terror laws, getting tried by literal nobles, surveillance, censorship, banning children from talking to their friends or listening to music on youtube, could any reasonable person describe the UK as a modern, western liberal democracy?

We are ruled by idiots. Do they not know every 15 year old revises GCSE’s on YouTube? Do they not know that teenagers track their friends are home safely on SnapChat? Do they not realise that - especially in rural areas with no transport - teenagers social lives are on… social media. Do they not know that teenagers will find ways round - as has been shown in Australia. This ban is illogical and damaging. If I hear another parent say “it’s so hard to police them” I’ll scream. It’s a parent’s job. Take responsibility the children you are meant to be bringing up. It is not the government’s job to look after your children. But the government will now insist all adults provide ID to prove we are over 18. 😡

Yesterday, we had a lad freely throwing Nazi salutes right in the beak of a UK Copper. Today 117 people, including pensioners, were arrested for opposing genocide in Gaza.

The fact that your government has made it illegal for me to answer yes is a damning testament to your flagrant disregard for civil liberties. This may be targeted at those taking action against the genocide, but it sets a very dangerous precedent that puts everyone at risk.

Mike Tapp is too thick to know he's imitating Joseph McCarthy. Our political elite used to be malign and clever. Now they're malign and thick.

Labour handing the NHS over to Palantir, outlawing teen transitions and banning social media seems to put to bed any 'lesser of two evils' position forever. This is all as evil as it gets.

'It isn't like the suffragettes because I say so' is about the level of historical misinformation one would expect from a state assisting a genocide. The UK can't not be this way without incriminating itself.
The Lady Chief Justice: Palestine Action was not a direct action civil disobedience protest group like the suffragettes, but used violence to destroy property The suffragettes burned down country houses & train stations, bombed churches & sent letter bombs to politicians.

This is about ramming through digital ID and mass surveillance, while pretending it’s about the child wellbeing — a goal that Larry Ellison was massively funding Tony Blair’s think tank to lobby for in the UK; and bonus, about censoring content to desperately reverse this trend.
🚨 NEW: The UK social media ban for under-16s will be enforced through facial recognition, digital IDs, credit cards, open banking, passports, mobile provider checks or email age estimation

that’s the question isn’t it. what WILL she do? there are no youth clubs for her to attend. food, cinema tickets, any sort of third space activity is all too expensive. their parents are underpaid, saturday jobs don’t exist any more, children have truly been abandoned by the govt

The Court is clear, we should instead protest like the Suffragettes; by whipping politicians in the streets until they give us what we want.

Parliament should reverse the decision to proscribe Palestine Action urgently before we see large numbers of elderly people in particular being dragged before our courts. Classifying protest through direct action as terrorism brings Parliament & our judicial system into disrepute

This is absolutely insane. The suffragettes used far more extreme tactics than Palestine Action. They planted bombs, burned down private homes and smashed up art galleries. They killed five people! Her outrageous judgement is based on absurd historical ignorance.

The second trial, with eight of the Filton 25, has begun today at the Old Bailey. However, security are denying entry to all the family members and loved ones, demanding they have two forms of ID. This rule has never been used before, and is clearly an intimidation tactic.
