Very pleased to share the first publication from the Pardy lab, exploring our growing understanding of how intestinal epithelial cells contribute to host défense! A big congratulations to Thomas and Ines for their work putting this together!!
Intestinal epithelial cells form a key barrier between the #gut and the rest of the body, but what role do they play in #immunity? Find out in "Immunity at the edge: cell-intrinsic roles for intestinal epithelial cells in host immunity" @RyanPardy2 đź“– buff.ly/pIie0eV

It's our first MIM happy hour of the semester! For our very first talk, @RyanPardy2 from @inrsciences will talk about mechanisms of enteric immunity Pour notre toute première présentation des 5 à 7 de MIM du semestre, Ryan Pardy va parler des mécanismes d'immunité entérique

VERY excited to share my MSc work @jrfmricher lab! Here, we show that the inflammatory milieu induced during chronic viral infection impacts thymic composition, leading to the emergence and development of B cells in the thymus! W/@MelicharLab @LabWaggoner onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

By treating IFNg KO mice with IFNg, we showed that it took 24h to see a reduction in parasite burden. Crypto’s life cycle lasts 12h so this suggests IFNg acts on uninfected cells to limit dissemination within the host

This was further supported with ALI organoids, in which pre-incubation with IFNg was sufficient to limit Crypto’s ability to replicate. Thanks as ever to everyone at Penn for your help and support - looking forward to following up on this in the Pardy lab!!
