#cervicalcheck After 5 1/2 years, my case against @HSELive & Quest Diagnostics have been settled in the High Court today for damages & costs. It has been a very long and stressful process - the culture and misogyny I have experienced has been very difficult to deal with

Not one contributor raised this front page story on #Brendan programme on @RTERadio1 this morning. €725m bailout by the public purse and they couldn't mention Harvey Sherratt Morrison and Anita Little who informed the Minister about children being removed from waiting lists without their parents knowledge. Its not just the cabal in the health services that are failing Ireland’s children. Shameful, stuff.
'I blew the whistle on Harvey case at CHI' ✍️ Maeve Sheehan A former manager at Children's Health Ireland (#CHI) has revealed she is the whistleblower who flagged concerns around Harvey Morrison Sherratt's care. Anita Little, a former spinal services business manager, who settled a legal employment dispute with CHI last week, told the Sunday Independent: "Yes, I can confirm I am the whistleblower." She said she made a protected disclosure to the Health Minister after it came to her attention that Harvey who suffered from complex scoliosis and spina bifida, had been inexplicably removed from the waiting list. He died, aged nine. last July. "I felt the Minister for Health had the power to find out what happened with Harvey" she said. "I was also aware that his parents did not know he had been removed from the waiting list which is just absolutely outrageous." Standing by the allegations she made in a protected disclosure, which was sent to the minister last August 31, Ms Little said she is willing to testify at the statutory inquiry or any inquiry. "There are patients at risk due to suboptimal processes, lack of transparency, communication and waiting-list management practices at CHI." In a statement to the Sunday Independent, Ms Sherratt [@GillSherratt23] said the family still has no answers, two years after Harvey was removed from the waiting list. Ms Sherratt added the scope of the inquiry must be “wide” and “deep” enough “to truly uncover everything that’s been allowed to go on at CHI”. #PublicInquiryCHi #Whistleblower #JusticeforHarvey #CHI #HowIrelandWorks *Edited Front Page* independent.ie/irish-news/i-…

Firstly, I want to thank Anita Little for being incredibly brave and for coming forward at such a significant personal cost. It has undoubtedly affected both her career and, I am sure, her mental well being.

Healthcare Whistleblowers from @BlowersIreland had a further meeting with Joe Ryan and his team, representatives of the @HSELive yesterday 11th of May 2026 It was a very constructive engagement, and we would like to thank Joe and his team for their time and openness in continuing this important dialogue. For whistleblowers and those working in healthcare, trust in the Protected Disclosures process is vital. Constructive engagement between staff and leadership is the only way to ensure independence, credibility, and real accountability within the system. We hope this meeting represents another step towards building a culture where concerns are not only heard but acted upon in a way that protects patients, staff, and the integrity of our health services. #HSE #ProtectedDisclosures #Accountability #PatientSafety #Transparency

For every child who’s been told “just live with it.” For every family still searching for answers. For every parent who has sat in appointment after appointment, begging someone to listen. This young woman right here? She’s standing for something so much bigger than herself. Katie is standing for every child with a disability who has been left waiting. Every child whose pain was brushed aside. Every family who had to fight for answers they should never have had to beg for. Katie has cerebral palsy, a dysplastic hip, a twisted femur, a retroverted pelvis and a labral tear. She is in pain, but she is still fighting. And now we are fighting to get her to Florida for the surgery that could change her life. Please help us get Katie there. Donate if you can. Share if you can’t. Because Katie’s fight is not just about one young woman. It is about being heard. It is about hope. It is about refusing to give up. gofund.me/be42fb568

What has actually changed, @CarrollJennifer ? A consultant allegedly telling parents to email management themselves to push for urgently needed surgery is extraordinary. Why is the burden of escalation being placed on families? If a clinician believes delay is unsafe, why is that not being formally escalated internally through governance and patient safety systems? Parents should not be acting as intermediaries between surgeons and management while children wait for surgery. Meanwhile nurses are leaving, families are distressed, and children continue to deteriorate on waiting lists. And while children continue to deteriorate on waiting lists, Lucy Nugent is offering families tours of the new children’s hospital. The level of detachment is staggering. @AnneOConnorIRL @SimonHarrisTD
Replying to @GillSherratt23
We were in CHI Tuesday to discuss my daughter up come operation which she needs and the consultant ask us to email management that my daughter needs this operation sooner rather then later and he said that management don't care and 5 more nurses are leaving next week

Cancer experts have warned that over 80% of Ireland's radiotherapy machines need immediate or imminent replacement, with little or no active planning to do so. @FergalBowers They said the consequences of ageing machines impact directly on patients, with breakdowns resulting in missed radiation treatments, delayed treatments and longer treatments. #Cancer #Radiotherapy rte.ie/news/2026/0429/157081…

For anyone out there going through a tough time... Take a look at these two €20 notes. The one on the left has been through the wars, crumpled, stained, and a bit of a mess. The one on the right is straight, crisp, and untouched; it looks "perfect." Ask yourself this: Is the crumpled note worth any less than the pristine one? The answer is no. Don’t let anyone put you down just because you’ve survived a rough season or need a little extra support right now. Your "creases" don't define your worth. We are all equal. We are unique and different in our own ways, but we are all living, breathing human beings. Our value doesn't fluctuate based on our circumstances. You are worth just as much today as you were on your best day. We all MATTER. Don’t let anyone,.or any situation ever make you think otherwise. 💜 #Equal #YouMatter #YouAreEnough

Well done @MayaSharma2021 it takes great courage to speak out to protect others #camhs
When whistleblowers speak up in healthcare, it is rarely about themselves—it is about preventing harm. Dr Maya Sharma’s account of ignored CAMHS referrals involving suicidal children is devastating. Too often, those who raise concerns are isolated, discredited, or punished, while the real failures remain untouched. Protected disclosures should save lives—not cost careers. #Whistleblowers #CAMHS #PatientSafety #Accountability #HSE #SpeakUp

It is the lack of accountability for those at the top of public & civil service which permits these cases to repeat again & again. Why can't people be accountable for their decisions? Look at how #Whistleblowers are treated & no one has ever been held accountable @OCallaghanJim

Today Katie came into me and sobbed her heart out because she has had to defer college for September. I cannot even put into words what that felt like as her mam. At 19 years of age, Katie should be excited for her future. She should be getting ready for college, making plans, looking forward to the next chapter of her life like every other young person her age. Instead, her life is being put on hold because she is in pain, because her body is getting worse, and because I still cannot raise the money needed to get her to Florida for the surgery that could change her life. A while later, she posted a video on TikTok, and I honestly felt my heart break all over again. Because behind every update, every video, every post, there is a real young girl watching her future slip further away while we fight and beg for help. And tonight I feel broken. I feel like the worst mam in the world because no matter how hard I try, no matter how much I beg, post, fundraise, sell, share, email and fight, I still cannot get Katie what she needs. Watching your child cry because she has had to give up college is a pain I would not wish on any parent. She should not have to put her dreams on hold because of money. She should not have to watch her friends move on while she is left behind through no fault of her own. All I want is to get my daughter to Florida for her surgery. That is it. Not a luxury. Not something extra. Just the surgery she desperately needs so she can have a chance at a life with less pain, more freedom, and some hope of getting her future back. So tonight I am begging. Please, please help me get Katie to Florida. If you can donate, please donate. If you cannot, please share this post. Share her story. Share her videos. Tell people about her. Help me reach someone who can help. Because right now I am a mother watching her daughter’s world get smaller and smaller, and I am begging the public to help me change that before it is too late. Please help me save Katie’s future. gofund.me/fbc3eeea6

While I naturally sympathise with anyone who says they couldn’t make appointments/treatment or access care due to the protests, I do find it incredibly hypocritical to hear our ‘health leaders’ talk about ‘unacceptable patient risk’. I feel the need to remind them that parents of children with Spina Bifida and scoliosis have been telling them for *years* about concerns around their care. We told them they were at risk of harm. We repeatedly asked for it to be investigated and it took years, unnecessary death and public protest to get them to show any real level of concern. This meeting to me was a tactic to condemn protestors rather than it actually being genuine concern for issues accessing healthcare.
