Spontaneous actions, like spontaneous speech, can we quantify with a practical clinical measure? This is what we came up with @ks_horne @DrPhilipMosley
It was awesome to play a small role in this super cool study led by @ks_horne & @GailARobinson validating a non-verbal task to quantify #apathy in #neurodegeneration Check out this paradigm!

my postdoc advisor made the case that for many of us those introductory classes that we teach are far & away bigger and more immediate impact than anything else we do. A lot of those students are never going to see a scientist again. That's your shot.
Academia is not just research. Why do people undervalue the impact good teachers have on people and the ripple effects that then has? I really have to push back on this narrative about less impact in academia.

Our paper on using Optimal Transport to compare human cortical surfaces was accepted at #NeurIPS22 🥳 We implement a new OT solver (FUGW) to compare human brains although their anatomy and functional activity patterns differ a lot. arxiv.org/abs/2206.09398 github.com/alexisthual/fugw

Had a lot of fun writing this small journal club article for @NatRevPsych about the original 'Flash Lag Effect' paper (Nijhawan, 1994). Also a handy excuse to make my own demo! Full-text link: rdcu.be/cZkFo
