Delivered a keynote address today at CII-Indian Women Network (CII-IWN) Delhi Annual Session, with a spotlight on 'India Inc's Vision 2030: Our Engendered Future'. I highlighted India’s efforts anchored in gender justice as we surge ahead, towards Viksit Bharat@100. I congratulated India Inc. on thriving financial activity, with special reference to the 37 billion dollars valuation generated by 9 crore women in India’s Self-Help Groups. Encouraging caution in interpreting and devising indices that quantify public sentiment on various themes and consequently affect investments, I welcomed the intervention of third-party research organisations in scrutinising and elevating the methodological richness of index development. Accounting for India’s 1.5 million-strong network of elected, women Panchayat leaders, for example, will intuitively capture India’s local reality. Such nuanced efforts will go a long way in creating gender-just economic opportunities for India Inc.
