Congratulations to @poonam_thakur6 and her team for their recent publication in @ACSChemNeurosci. The study describes the impact of glycation modification on the pathology of the alpha-synuclein protein, providing insights into the link between diabetes and Parkinson's disease.
Excited to share our new paper in @ACSChemNeurosci. We show that glycation modification observed during diabetes alters how α-synuclein drives pathology, leading to earlier symptom onset. This may help explain the higher PD risk in people with diabetes
