The promise of immune-based therapies still needs to reach patients with NSCLC bearing driver alterations. We need to look beyond checkpoint inhibitors. Thank you @NarjustFlorezMD and @BiagioRicciutMD for the amazing discussion! #LCSM
I hope you are ready for this discussion with Drs. @SchenkLab & @BiagioRicciutMD I learned SO much only in the first 5 minutes of this conversation about the use of IO in patients with NSCLC and driver mutations. Including -Toxicity -Importance of NGS -Prognostic and predictive markers -The impact of tumor microenvironment Lung Cancer Considered the official @IASLC podcast โŒ›๏ธ๐Ÿ’‰๐Ÿงฌ๐Ÿงซ๐Ÿงช

@Joshua_Reuss my colleague in arms against lung cancer is doing amazing work to unravel who can benefit from IO/VEGF therapy in his IIT and is supported by @thehuffproject and @LUNGevity. Josh let's talk translation and upping my wall art game ๐Ÿ˜

One of the best parts of this job is seeing your mentees succeed. Keep up the great work Patrick and Amaie (not pictured but proud to say he got into pharmacy school!). Hearing from both made my day

Thank you @ALKPositiveinc! Currently in the lab working towards new plans
ALK #lungcancer patients like having plans A, B and C all lined up. #Research helps us do this. Ultimately, as Dr Erin Schenk of @SchenkLab says, research helps us do better for our patients not only todayโ€ฆ but tomorrow. It's really about #MoreResearchMoreLife #LCAM

I often share the words of a mentor/hero of mine (a hematologist) in my clinical practice as a thoracic oncologist: โ€œIt is better to start the right treatment rather than the fast one.โ€
More data showing the importance of *waiting* for NGS results before starting NSCLC therapy whenever possible! Retrospective analysis @JCOOP_ASCO show that when treatment of driver NSCLC before biomarker results is associated with inferior survival. ascopubs.org/doi/abs/10.1200โ€ฆ

Thank you for the invitation to speak! One day would love to be part of a session focused on novel immune approaches for EGFR/ALK/ROS1. Cell therapies, BiTEs, macrophage check pointsโ€ฆ
Fascinating lecture describing how the interaction between tumor cells and macrophages in the TME can drive resistance to targeted therapies. Looking forward to future work from @SchenkLab in this space! #DAVAHawaiiLung

Amazing fact about science: there are always new and different ways something can go wrong. Luckily our new problem was easily solved. Onward! #labdaydiaries #keepmovingforward
