Brighter nights & darker days predict higher mortality risk: A prospective analysis of personal light exposure in >88,000 individuals ⚠️ Exposure to brighter nights & darker days causes circadian disruption, which accompanies poor health outcomes that increase mortality risk. ▶️ Individuals w/brighter day light had incrementally lower all-cause mortality risk, & those w/brighter night light had incrementally higher all-cause mortality risk, compared to individuals in darker environments. ✅️ Avoiding night light & seeking day light may promote optimal health & longevity. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.24… @HealthyFellow @ChrisSylvain @DHPSP @DrRPalmquist @tatiann69922625 @LoriShemek @guani_vic @drfherediaz

🚨 The ultra-processed food reckoning is here — and your protein shake might be part of the problem. Isolated protein powders promise muscle & fullness. But they deliver a metabolic dud. Why? They strip away the food matrix — the natural fiber, fats, and compounds that slow digestion, trigger powerful gut peptides (like GLP-1 and PYY), and create true satiety. Result? Fast-absorbing aminos, blood sugar spikes, less fullness, and you’re hungry again soon. Whole foods win. The fix that actually works: Pair quality protein with complex fiber (veggies, berries, oats, beans, sprouted grains). This combo optimizes gut hormone release, steadies energy, and crushes cravings naturally. Your body knows the difference. #GutHealth #ProteinMyths #RealFood

The new study findings make a strong case for integrating #NCDs screening and management into routine #HIV care to catch these conditions earlier. A study of people living with HIV in Rwanda 🇷🇼 found that more than one-third (36%) had at least one noncommunicable disease, with hypertension (22.5%), #diabetes (9.9%), and kidney impairment (9.9%) being most common. Alarmingly, 80% of #hypertension cases and over half of diabetes and #kidney impairment cases were newly diagnosed during the study, highlighting major gaps in routine screening. Older age, physical inactivity, and adverse drug reactions were key risk factors. nature.com/articles/s41598-0…

Sustainable health is rarely about “perfect diet intense discipline.” It’s about building rhythms that the nervous system can actually tolerate movement. #healthcareIT #eHealth #healthcare #digitalhealth
Nutrition doesn't live in a vacuum. The best diet in the world won't work if you're chronically stressed. Find a way to move your body today that feels like a celebration, not a punishment. A brisk walk in nature counts. #MindfulMovement #FitnessOver40 #StressRelief
